Nervous 20 minutes ahead.

Get through this and go again in the morning. 2 days to chase this down, be sensible please lads

Tough half hour on the way here. Start will be bowling hoops and Cummins will be his self.

Happpily settle for one down.

Think we were a bit brain dead there at Travis Head. We almost taught him how to a play the short ball there.

Good effort that by those two. Hopefully we get a good start tomorrow.

This series though. One way and then the other all the time so who knows?!

Frustrating that we let them get an extra 40 runs bowling stupid at head, however I would’ve snapped your hand off if someone offered 251 to win after our batting display on Friday.

Big day tomorrow, have to be on it

I'm jealous mate. Hope you both have a great time!
Thanks - really looking forward to it as it will be my first time at an Ashes test match since the 70's, when I went to a few test matches at Headingley and it will be sons first one. Hopefully come back with a win.
Strange thing is that with better catching, slightly more sensible batting and a bit more "cricket" (Bairstow runout, where I think a warning was in order as they do with Mankad) we could have been looking at winning the ashes rather than trying not to lose them :emoticon-0112-wonde

He’s been dodgy against the short ball until today (technically yesterday but I haven’t gone to bed yet!!). He’s been very good against everything else. So there’s no way of knowing if we’d set a tight field and bowled too if off, if he’d have still got runs. Odds are that he would imo. Stick or twist scenario really as England would’ve hit it in the neck if they’d pitched up and he scored too.

The thing that annoyed me was that we’d bowled like that for all the time he was at the crease and still persevered.

you’re right, we don’t know if changing tactics would’ve worked it was just infuriating watching the same short balls.

Haway England today

Head's a local South Australian and has always been suspect against the short ball. The tactic was right however he had one of his better days.
