No - Eric Morecambe definitely said it. When I read sb’s comment above I immediately thought of Eric Morecambe and I distinctly remember seeing him say it on tv.

He was a great sports lover - if you accept supporting Luton is a love of sport <whistle>

True that, Taff….. even l remember Eric supporting Luton…. Wow, how time flies.

Wow, that’s certainly an age for a pair of book-ends.
I remember Colin Cowdrey being sent out here during a test series to sure up an under firing batting brigade. It was an admiral performance by him.

Not sure if it's a myth but when Cowdrey went out to bat the first time in that series, he went up to Thompson, shook his hand and said " we haven't met, but the name's Cowdrey".... so British I hope it isn't a myth....

Trammers, it’s a quality that is rarely found in people nowadays. I admire respectful people like that.

Been following on ferry from Bilbao to Rosslare using beeb text.... did try steely+ but kept buffering and freezing.... but that sounded like a bloody good game....
Joe Root we're so lucky to witness the way he plays.... up there with the finest batsmen of all time....

Blimey
I guess it's not your typical roro ferry

That's not a ferry, that's a mini cruise!

Not wrong Steely.... ships operated by Brittany Ferries, under 5 years old, powered by LNG but still in many ways like a normal ferry for cars and freight....
They also operate sailings from Portsmouth to Bilbao and is a cracking way to start a holiday....

You can also fly to Santander from Birmingham for £64 return, avoid being stuck on a boat for ages, and use the savings to hire a car while you are there.

Fine if you like flying, but for those that aren't keen.....
Santander, if you haven’t been, is a lovely town. Great old market converted into food court in which you can assemble a Serrano, chorizo and cheese platter with a very nice bottle of red for very little cash. And of course lots of great tapas.

Sounds great
But you have to go to Birmingham first
