Wee I once heard John Mcgovern say that Peter Taylor did all the man management with the Forest players and was the motivator in the training sessions while Cloughie inspired them all to dream they could be the best team in Europe ! Possibly why Cloughie was so poor without Taylor, so I guess it is possible .
While he never hit the same highs without Taylor, Forest won won the League Cup twice, were runners up twice and were runners up in the FA Cup post the Taylor era under Clough. How I wish QPR had such a poor manager.

I didn't say he was a poor manager ! That's you trying to put words into my mouth. On the contrary he was a genius, and as he said himself was in the top 1. My point was relating to Col's post that it is possible to be inspirational without having motivational skills as quoted by his former captain. The complexities of man management are many and most aren't very good at it.

Another poor batting show by England today. Match reduced to 29 overs and we don't look like using all of them.

174-8 off 24.3

Perhaps it will be enough then.

Still pretty average batting from England, though
Have to say from what I have seen of this match and the last one, it’s pretty poor quality all round. Lots of wide bowling and cross bat attempted hitting. Perhaps that’s ODI tactics nowadays.

It's becoming far too much of a slog fest imo.
It doesn't have to be like 20/20.
32-5.
