Delighted I didn’t have access to live coverage. England brilliantly demonstrate the naivety of hope before a ball is bowled. We knew this was likely yet I allowed myself to dream……only hope is we can do the same to them. I don’t want to be saved by rain.

One or two bad shots from England, but mostly that was down to very good bowling and superb outfielding from the Aussies. We should have chosen to bowl first, but having picked Leach ahead of Broad and Anderson that wasn't going to happen. Second day's that best time to bat at the Gabba, they say!

Yep, l was very surprised of England batting first.
The team has been here for little while now and would have witnessed the inclement weather of late, throw in an Aussie summer and the humidity.

With that knowledge, batting first seem crazy but at the end of the day, if they had had a blinder , batting first would’ve been considered a stroke of genius.

As l said in another post, there are many twists & turns to play out.

If only it was as easy to predict the lottery numbers....

Breakfast tv didn't disappoint in making me feel disheartened....

Going to be a long winter....

****ing awful.
Also, pretty much what was predicted.
Shouldn't have left Broad out and if Anderson wasn't injured, he should have played too.
One look at that wicket and the overhead conditions meant bowling first.
Pick your best bowlers for those conditions and put down a marker.
We got everything wrong.

Rain is the only thing that can save us.
Escape with a jammy draw and reassess our choices.

Just seen the highlights on bbc site & abysmal batting again, ok there was some good balls, bad decision to bat in those conditions & that weather is meat & drink to our bowlers, burns wicket is school boy stuff christ too far over & should’ve been flicked for four, let’s hope we can turn the tide on their batsmen tomorrow

Well, having watched the highlights, seen the colour of the pitch and the overhead conditions, Root really boxed himself into a corner with that team selection. Our batsmen really struggled to find the middle of the bat, good bowling, a couple of poor shots. Actually could have been a lot worse……..

Gone past Harris' outside edge 4 times in first 4 overs ffs. We need all the luck in the world today, and alot of nicks to be held. Nothing like as much movement so far, but obviously conditions are massively different. Not coming round the wicket to Warner which seems very strange, we seem to be making every wrong decision possible in this test !

Gone !! Harris out for 3. Robinson my beauty, that's the line and length. Just bringing him forward. 10-1. Now we need to get these next 3 before they reach 500 ! I think Labuchagne us as good as Smith these days unfortunately
