Leach and Mahmood are looking relatively comfortable now. England will need to make the most of the new ball.
In 4 overs time the new ball is due for the Windies....... not sure they thought they'd have to take a 2nd new ball when England were 90/8, now 163/9 with Leach joint top scorer and Mahmood not far behind
Brilliant entertainment watching this last wicket stand. The West Indies have become demoralised to the point where some of their body language has been terrible. New ball should end this, but currently 190-9. Such fun.
Most of the innings stunk but a great rear-guard action by these two. Maybe these two could open the 2nd innings?
Such a shame for Mahmood falling on 49. 204 all out. Brilliant from him and Leach. Who'd have thunk it?
Numbers 10 and 11 scored 4 less runs than the top 9 combined ! Brilliant from both of them, Mahmood looks like he could stay in the side for a while now so not everything lost from this tour no matter what the outcome. The ball did very little once it got soft so we need to make big inroads with the new cherry and remove Brathwaite before he's faced 1000 balls !
I stayed up and watched it mate, England have been improving with each game and should reach the Semi's now. However the Aussies look miles clear of everyone and it would be a mammoth shock if they don't win it.
8 overs of complete dross from Woakes and Overton, didn't beat the bat once. It's hard to imagine a worse opening attack anywhere. Mahmood coming on now
This is going well. Braithwaite has speeded up to a nosebleed inducing strike rate of 26 off his first 50 balls…… ….obviously taking too many risks, lbw Stokes. Now we need a few more in short order.
Good last half hour with 3 wickets, variable bounce helping our cause. It was pathetic to take Woakes on this tour, he's simply never down anything away from England. Completely wasted the first 8 overs and let them get off to a flyer. Stokes and Mahmood looking far more threatening, hopefully we can restrict them to near 250 and leave them with a difficult chase on a deteriorating wicket
