I can see the whole of the cricket fraternity all excited then day one of test one, England all out for 157 and the Aussies 95 -1
Here is a very good article, reminiscing about the game of test cricket, played at the Sydney Cricket Ground, from a fellow boomer. l spent a number of summers throughout the seventies, watching test cricket at the SCG, seeing Lillee & Thompson at their best and can relate to this read. https://www.smh.com.au/national/cha...he-scg-shaped-my-summers-20230103-p5ca1f.html
England going well chasing 299 in the first ODI against South Africa. 91-0 off 14 overs with some much-needed runs for Jason Roy, 50 not out.
All over. Massively important for S Africa to try to get to the WC. Presumably we'll continue to not pick our strongest team?
Bairstow is the obvious one, Stokes has retired from 50 over cricket although they're hoping he reverses his decision. Not sure if Woakes is unavailable too. Wood is almost certainly being rested, can't have him missing the Ashes. So who would you be putting in apart from them at the moment ?
Having already lost the series, England have made a disastrous start in the third ODI against South Africa, 12 for 2 off 5 overs.
