Such a shame for Pope. Must have lost concentration to play such a poor shot. Well played though. Robinson and Woakes could hopefully be entertaining. May as well before the new ball in 3 overs time.
Woakes 45 from 50 balls taking England close to a lead of 100.......last 5 wickets have added 220+ runs, invaluable in the context of the game and shows benefit of batting deep......
Brilliant from Woakes helping England to a 99 run lead. Good recovery from 60 odd for 5. England ahead, but have to bat last on what will be a slightly wearing pitch. Not much in it considering that. India have all the time in the world to bat themselves into a winning position. Won't want to chase much more than 150. Vital last hour or so now. Two early wickets and England will really fancy it.
290 all out a lead of 99 and Strolls get his wish to see an hour's bowling at India's top order...... Well deserved 50 for Woakes on top of his 4 wickets yesterday......... another 3 or 4 wickets should secure him the MOTM award.....
Finely balanced, if India bat through most of Saturday, it's going to be close finish. Still plenty of cricket to be played. England slightly favourites at the close of day two.
Close lbw but always looked like it was going down. Strange decision to give it out on the field. Rightly over turned. England need a couple of wickets here or it could be a long day. Woakes bowling well.
Hussain and Warne need their eyes testing. The bat is no where near anything when the first tiny spike appears, then it's right next to the ball when the big spike appears. Clearly out and much needed. Perfect bowling conditions and we really need another before the sun appears later on.
India's lead is probably too much for England already. Only one side can realistically win now, with India still having so many wickets in hand.
I still think England can win this. We'll probably need a couple of early wickets, but chasing down 280-300 isn't out of the question.
Days 2 and 3 were always likely to be the best days for batting on that pitch......... Using hindsight which is a wonderful thing, India were allowed to get 50 - 60 more runs than they should have got and England were probably 50 - 60 runs short in first innings..... failure to take chances also proving costly, 6 dropped catches so far, difficult enough to take 20 wickets let alone 26....... India slight favorites going in to Day 4
India are certainly favourites, but England aren't out of it by any means. Keep the chase under 300, a bit of sunshine and you never know. The pitch is still a good one, and India don't have a front-line spinner to exploit any turn.
