My wife don’t like cricket but even she was engrossed in it at the end & asking have they don’t it, amazing finish & thought leach had been run out only Lyon to fumble & big roar went up, can’t belIeve what I had just witnessed

Twice in two months Stokes has proved me totally wrong, thought we’d lost the World Cup, then today was even better, amazing self belief he must have.

What an incredible day to showcase test cricket at its best (and the best result :emoticon-0100-smile). Complete ebb and flow through the whole day - extremely tense and stressful - with an incredible superhuman effort from Stokesy to cap off a wonderful win!
Now for a drink or two to celebrate <cheers>

I guess our friend Mr Le Merde is wallowing in le merde at the moment...<laugh>
Dr Le Merde to you !!!!!

It's a shame there wasn't more time pressure on England to reach the 359, but I suppose that's down to your capitulation on Friday. A good performance from Stokes and Root, he set the foundation, and 2 matches to go and the series tied. Smith is back, hopefully for the next match, he plays against Derbyshire this week and I hear Anderton is fit. So provided the English late summer /early autumn weather holds up, is that likely?, we could have a couple of cracking matches. :emoticon-0148-yes:

I've just watched the highlights and still can't believe what Stokes did. Mission Impossible. He's Superman. Even the incidents leading up to the winning runs was incredible drama. From Lyon bowling into the foothole and thinking Stokes was caught out, to the missed stumping by Lyon with Leach miles from his crease and the not given LBW that should've been given because Payne foolishly used up their review.
What an incredible test match in which the spectator experienced every emotion from complete despair to ecstasy.

I think he is actually thinking "how the hell did Joel miss that !!"

Or, how the hell did the Aussies waste their last review just before, on an LBW that couldn't possibly of been out?
Anyway, no Aussie can ever complain about poor umpires after the Aussie umpires of the 70s and 80s willfully cheated so brazenly.
At least it was an honest mistake and on first viewing, I thought it may be close, but didn't look quite right.
If in doubt..........

I'd focus on that twat Lyon and how the **** he hilariously managed to **** up that run out if I were you mate.

Gary should have a couple of bad dreams about that run-out but he puts in a shift and got Root out so he will be fine. As I've said elsewhere, you shouldn't have to save a review for a dead cert lbw, but that's cricket and we move onto the next game, still all to play for which is good for the series.
