I was going to come on and gloat about how good the remaining tests are going to be, but I've just realised that the card wallet that I lost somewhere on my journey to Spain also contained my ticket for the Oval. I've cancelled my debit and credit cards and requested a replacement Oyster and QPR season ticket, but I'm not sure yet if I can get a new ticket for the cricket. I'm going to be mightily pissed off if I can't!
If you’ve got an email confirmation it should be fine as it’ll all be linked to barcodes and reference numbers.
Yesterday was probably the greatest sporting exhibition I've ever seen, I was glued to the TV waiting for the inevitable, fearing every ball was going to be the last. My wife has no interest in cricket (but loved the excitement of the super over in the world cup final) watched the last hour on the edge of her seat while I explained what was happening (not easy in the last 3 crazy overs). I feel very privileged to have been alive to witness '81 '05 and now '19 anyone who says test cricket is boring is just plain wrong.
I listened on my phone to the BBC to the last few overs in a festival field in the middle of Oxfordshire . When Stokes scored the last boundary I screamed and danced around, and everyone looked at me, which was really odd as I could see loads of other people gathered round phones. At least 30 seconds later, the whole field erupted. I wonder if my phone can see 30 seconds into the future. Came home passed midnight and watched the highlights on Sky, unbelievable, no idea how Stokes did that, and Leach was amazing a final wicket 50 partnership...he was amazing to, that must have been even more stressful than Stokes innings.
Ha ha, I'm glad that quote has come back to haunt me. Who'd of thought that that would happen from that position? I hope you can get that all sorted out out mate. Hopefully WestWindsR is bang on the money.
I followed the BBC sports text coverage and it was quite exciting and rather unbelievable. I have just watched some short highlights and it was an amazing innings and match. There was an element of luck with the fumbled run-out and the LBW decsion not given with no available challenges. But such drama is why sport is so exciting. So it is only a question of when Ben Stokes will be Knighted! Quite a hero and what a summer he has had.
Don't disagree but suspect the Beeb will be all over it as it's one sport they still have s sliver of TV coverage for... Anyway - hopefully we can discuss it in greater detail in October
please log in to view this image very civilised you can even bring champagne 150 quid seems a bit pricey though
As good as lip-reading the Derby fan after the play-off final! Am I the only one who has watched the highlights of Sunday four times already?
Anyone fancy going to the final day of the last Ashes test at the Oval (16th September) ? Tickets are £25 quid and you get your money back if there’s no play. I’m waiting on a couple of calls but should be up for it. NB : ****, just tried to get tickets and looks like it’s sold out now
