Yep, he's high on the spectrum. A really nice guy I believe. Not sure the Sky commentators realise he's on the spectrum. Or if they do, they're choosing not to mention it (probably not politically correct!!).
And now Root doesn't bowl Woakes. Bad decisions imo. Hopefully Stokes will prove me wrong (he often does).
You're not going to make me like him. We've got tickets for tomorrow now, £20 in the Compton Upper. Could be a good day if England can get a decent first innings lead.
Smith is in an incredible run of form. However, England have bowled poorly at him and set very bad fields to him. We're so good at one day cricket, why haven't we tried a lot more variations on him? Slower balls, yorkers etc. Upset his timing etc. Instead we've just bowled to his strengths and set fields to let him off strike. We're a poor test unit.
I love his weird eccentricities when he's batting. A quality batsmen who also has textbook technique is also lovely to watch though but there's room for both.
What is impressive about him is that, despite all his bizarre movements before the ball is delivered, he has so much time to play. His histrionic leaves are ridiculous, though. If I'd never seen him play, I wouldn't feel that I had missed much.
So good watching Archer bowl. Langer said they would tire him out, but he's bowling quicker now after 26 overs! Now he's pinged Smith again.
Ouch! That delivery to Smith reminded me of the ball that killed poor Phillip Hughes a few years ago.
