The problem with belief is that it has no basis in knowledge, therefore it's narrow perspective of the world has no place in education. In some cases belief may be quite pernicious; for instance many people have been presented with a very scary alternative (ie Hell, with fire and ugly beasts with pointy sticks etc), or fear in myth in Satan, or guilt due to teeny-tweeny ****ing or staring at cleavage, or generally partying ...it's not all Mother Theresa and donating tins of soup in Autumn is it folks? There is a considerable difference between telling kids that God loves them and you should love one another than a nazi propaganda/ku klux klan school!
Being new to the site I was suprised and pleased to see threads on none football matters such as this one. I then asked myself the questions, do I join in, why was the subject brought up? Other thoughts have been examined in the course of the last twenty four hours and a decision taken.
When I was a schoolboy we had studies on the Druids and a book to go with those studies. The first three paragraphs of the book stated that we knew very little about those people. The rest of the book had us believing in them and what they did according to the writer. 1. The theory of evolution follows the same principle. Darwin started the origin of the species from observing life forms but not from the origin of life. Most scientist do not now go along with this theory though it is still taught in our education establishments. 2. The origin of life as we know it is a cause of vigorous debate in many accedemic circles and no firm conclusion has been agreed upon.
3. Now let us look at God from a believers perspective. If he wanted to create the universe in six days he could have done this given who he is or as some would say who he claims to be or who his followers claim him to be. I remember the first time man landed and walked on the moon. A little known fact is that the module that landed had telescopic legs, why? 4. The scientist had calculated the ammount of fine dust that would be on the surface of the moon in the millions of years that it had been in orbit, it came to yards. On landing it was found that there was less than an inch of dust, pointing to a young creation of ten to fifteen thousand years ago sending the scientific community into turmoil. God could have created life where and when he wanted and how he wanted to.
Brainwashing. If teaching Christianity is brainwashing so is teaching an 5. unprovable theory of evolution. 6. How can it be explained that people who have never even heard about Jesus see him in dreams and visions, he speaks to them? This is a daily occurence and a world wide thing. How is it that over two billion people world wide accept Christianity as their faith? 7. Most people in the world have some form of faith even if is not Christianity, 8. few are athiests. 9. Do these facts not tell us that mankind has a capacity to worship something or someone? Where did this come from?
10. Wars are started through religeon is an often quoted saying. The first three wars in the twentieth century were caused by raw materials, expansion ww1 and roughly the same in ww2. Christianity has caused few wars in our country for centuries and our civil wars had a good mix of politics as well. Nine eleven was not the fault of the USA, the after math may be.
I do not wish to argue for arguing sake but to take part in a debate. 11. I have raised some questions, not all can be answered with certainty. I have faith, well at the moment following 12. Doncaster Rovers requires faith. Dave.

1. Well that's a complete lie. Even in America, where the split amongst the general population between those who believe in Creation and those who don't is virtually 50:50, only 1 in 400 scientists believe in the 6-Day hypothesis.
2. About the only thing you've said that makes any sense, though I disagree with the manner you have written this (though abiogenesis is the idea that is currently held to be true). You are implying that because we don't know with much certainty the ORIGIN of life, we cannot accept, discuss or teach EVOLUTION, an unrelated subject entirely.
3. We know full well what God COULD do. It is irrelevant when debating if He did - or even if He exists. That is circular reasoning.
4. Completely incorrect. Even Answers In Genesis, the Creationist website, has posted an article saying this is an incorrect and worthless argument on your part.
http://www.answersingenesis.org/creation/v15/i4/moondust.asp
5. A complete lie out of desparation. It has been proven, and without it agriculture and medicine as we now know it would fall apart.
6. Dreaming about a man with a beard means nothing. Please show me some evidence about these crackpots.
7. And? What is your point? If it isn't Christianity, it goes against your argument anyway, and tells a different tale of Creation. Also, it's called FAITH for a reason. Numbers mean nothing.
8. There are approximately 1 BILLION atheists worldwide. As I said above though, that alone proves nothing.
9. Not at all. I have a capacity to imagine myself flying. Does that mean I can fly? Does it mean that either I or someone else, somewhere in the world, has wings?
10. So out of 2,000 years since the dawn of Christianity, you pick the 20th century alone to demonstrate that it has never been the cause of a war? Hmm...
11. Well I've managed it.
12. Good luck on Saturday (we're awful at home)!![]()
What will finish first? This thread or the Rangers takeover?
What will reach a million first? This thread or 'The First Thread to a Million Replies' thread?

Only God knows my son. God bless you and all who sail in you!![]()
****ing hell, I didn't respond to him because I thought he was a WUM!
You think he believes the **** he wrote?
and some intelligent people too.
He seems pretty informed. I wouldn't be arguing some of those points, but that is his call.
He's just pissing about with theories.
He hasn't committed to anything.
that is fair enough.
He was presenting a perspective.
Its up to him to argue the toss with you over it.
Not me.
Like I say, I wouldn't be arguing them with you but I'd like to hear what he has to say in response to your rebuttal.
