Craig Gordon

Thing is - all keepers make mistakes - if you use the "I remember this one" scenario then no-one would want David De Gea after our semi final game at Old Trafford as he could've thrown his cap on Bardsley's shot and it was straight at him!

I thought Gordon was an excellent all round keeper personally - good with crosses, great shot stopper and good decision making - he fell over in the one you talk about (I can't remember it tbh and can't find it on the internet anywhere!) which could happen to any player - that doesn't make him a bad keeper

My guess is you mean this one - I thought I was sometimes too critical of keepers but christ this was impossible for any keeper to save - particularly as the defender running back towards the goal couldn't catch it either and he had a 5 yard head start on Gordon!!

No that's not the one Marcus. for the one I'm talking about Wright-Phillips was completely on his own, he'd raced away from everybody. The fans around me were screaming at Gordon and we lost the match 3-0 or 3-1 if I remember right. I don't base my judgement on that one incident ( it wasn't the fact that he fell over, it was that he just sat on his a**e and watched the ball trickle over the line) in my opinion there were many instances where his decision making was suspect and cost us goals. I just never had much confidence in him.

He was total garbage, anybody who watched him closely would have seen error after error, the second half at Stoke City was a classic, we were 2 or 3 up at half time and were playing them off the park, three or four howlers from Gordon second half lost us the game, terrible keeping from a supposedly top keeper. In one of his first games at home a cross from Milner (Aston Villa) trickled across the box and ended up in the far corner, with Gordon rooted to the spot, it was pure Tom and Jerry, I watched him very closely, hoping to see what the hype was all about, he did pull out a save now and then, but you can't judge a players worth on video highlights, all I saw was a rabbit in the headlights, .

That Dirty T wat Defoe.........................he can be my new Coleman for stick !

I hated Defoe for that. Took me a while to take for him when he came.He of course broke Gordon's arm but it's his knee that nearly ended his career. Had some real bad luck, shame cause he's a smashing keeper.

I would take any sort of a win tbh., I forget what it feels like. Listened to Desert Island Disks this morning and a Nick Cave number featured, reminded me of you straight away, the power of 606 eh. <ok>
