PPE Mepro, a firm that was set up by a former secretary of Baroness Mone has been awarded a £122 million contract to supply 25 million gowns for health workers, not advertised to other bidders just 44 days after it was set up

PPE contracts worth millions of pounds have been awarded to a small luxury packaging company, a 44 day-old firm, a dormant company with one director, a lifestyle firm with no trading history, a hotel carpeting company, and a fashion designer based in Miami.

There have also been accusations of cronyism, with junior health minister Lord James Bethell last week admitting to the House of Lords that “informal arrangements” and “contacts” were used to identify potential PPE suppliers. Indeed, Lord Bethell himself held a meeting with a firm owned by a Conservative donor, a month before the company was awarded a series of contracts worth at least £154.7 million

That’s shocking, where’s the competitive tendering? I’m not surprised by this either.

I have a project that I’m about to tender for and I have to jump through hoops to make sure the paperwork is as they want it, the price has nothing to do with it, first hand experience in that was tendering for 2012 Olympic work price meant nothing.

Obviously in your opinion or is there more you'd like to impart . Myself it's probably not true but that's my opinion
I’ve read many of his tweets in the past and found them to hVe not been researched whatsoever. He just spouts this stuff out and expects his followers to lap it up......and sadly many do.

So,after todays announcement I think I have this right but star to be corrected....

Coronavirus won't harm you if you have a meal in a pub with a Fanta. But,it is lethal with a glass of wine, especially after 6pm.
During the 1930s in the USA, it was called Prohibition <cheers>
