Pretty insensitive but I suppose being practical in the circumstances ,a relative by marriage had an ambulance called to his house as he is suffering from the virus confirmed by the ambulance crew but not taken into hospital so how ill you have to be before you have to admitted I’d hate to think

Only those with underlying health issues and over 70 are being admitted unless the situation deteriorates badly................<ok>

Long story, just 2 hours ago placed order for delivery tomorrow with Iceland.

Rejected my M&S MasterCard, then my wife’s, then my Natwest MasterCard, then my wife’s. In desperation / ‘bewilderment’ used my Natwest Debit Card - same result <yikes>

Then the trolley emptied, and the Delivery slot vanished ....

Looked at my Banking App - the £83.99 was charged to my Debit Card....... and guess what, having finally spoken to M&S (took 58 mins to get through) and then NatWest, there are charges of £83.99 on each and every credit card.

Spoke to the local Iceland - there’s no delivery down for us tomorrow ...

They said ring customer services. Rang it - not taking calls.......

So we’ve seemingly been charged £419.95 for nothing ...... <grr>

Contact the bank by phone and tell them that they all need cancelling............<ok>

Looking at the 'growth rate' of the virus here in the UK, I think we could well exceed the numbers that Italy is experiencing with the death toll........<sorry>

As a note of safety, here is what we are doing in our household. Son no1 is our food courier lives just 2 miles away in Gowerton.

Son no2 is finishing his UNI on line, and is isolating with my wife and myself.

Parcels and letters are handled with disposable plastic gloves, all packaging is immediately trashed and sealed, all goods are anti bacterialy wiped, hands thoroughly washed with anti bacterial soap.

All food bags go through the same process, no visitors whatsoever, communication with my oldest son who does the supply runs is done through facetime and WhatsApp, it will be nice to sit in the garden once the fine weather arrives, not going to be tempted to make any more trips myself, as the virus is now spreading locally.

Stay safe everyone and do not get complacent please!......<ok>

This virus may have massive implications for close contact sport like rugby.

Thoughts?

Well the immediate to short term is obvious, end of season realistically. Long term, it depends on exactly what they discover about this virus. Is it manageable once it's been through the population and we have a vaccine? How mutable it is... the flu virus jab is different every year, if this thing needs a new vaccine every year then lots of people will continue to die.

The rest of the world seems to have realised that Boris Johnson is a joke – isn't it about time we did too? the phantasmagorical Idiot is a narcissist of the highest order, he cares nothing for anyone but himself, sadly the Tory party has foisted a tasteless joke upon the British people. Covid-19 pandemic has proved he is unfit for national office, he will be responsible for thousands of needless deaths. Clearly, by his elevation to number 10, we have signaled our abandonment to Britain’s claim to be a serious country, his premiership will lay bare his absolute unfitness for it, Boris the Bell-End, god help us!.........<laugh>
