It'll be interesting to see the conclusions of this pandemic once the dust has settled. I'm thinking the Chinese will have a lot to answer for.

We're a week out of lockdown in terms of more shops allowed to open and everyone wearing masks (compulsory) in shops. Deaths have marginally risen for two days this week......but not a lot and it follows the trend of a spike in infections a week or so ago. Deaths almost mirrors infections with a time lag. We are certainly not going back into lockdown officially and schools continue to open.....this week with those who will graduate this year and my son is expecting to go back some time next week.

Economists are predicting a deep global recession after official data shows that the US experienced its worst first-quarter GDP fall since the financial crisis a decade ago. The American economy shrank by 4.8% in the first three months of the year, a sharper fall than the 4% forecast by analysts. The Times reports that the fall comes amid warnings that Europe’s largest economy, Germany, is “on track to fall into its worst recession since the end of the Second World War”. “Taken together,” the paper adds, “the numbers paint a gloomy picture for the global economy”.
