Some players won’t be here next season or if they stay, won’t get game-time. Smallwood will either join Peterborough on a free or get an extra year here and be a squad player next season. Docherty will probably stay but he will fall down the pecking order even more as he’s just not good enough, unfortunately. Wilks will probably leave too, unless Shota fancies him. Eaves will likely go. He works hard but lacks the quality, like Docherty.

I agree with Howden that incomings will be harder than outgoings. Will be an interesting summer.

In truth Kalman
First 11 next season would consist of Greaves, KLP, Honeyman and 8 others

Fleming on recent performances is better.

Fleming has been brilliant. We're really blessed at left back. If Emmanuel can get fit again then we're blessed at right back too. I don't think it's an area we need to be talking about changing up at all

Shoto has said his preferred formation is 4-3-3 so imagine he will build a team around that.
No evidence to show that Fleming would perform in a back 4.
Good wing back though.

I love Eaves as a trier and all-round good bloke, but this is bollocks and Eaves will certainly not be anywhere near the team next season. The stats are available on WhoScored.com but the comparison between Magennis and Eaves is as follows (all except first on an average per 90 mins basis):
%pass completion;number of times offside;unsuccessful touches;number of times dispossessed.
Eaves - 50%; 1.2; 5.6; 2.7
Magennis - 64%; 1.3; 1.5; 1.0
If you say so.

But that is partially because Eaves gets to the balls that Josh couldn't.

I find comments like this really bizarre re Fleming. We've not really seen him in a back 4 but that doesn't mean he's no good.

He'll probably have spent 80/90% of his footballing education in a back 4 instead of at wing back.

With his attributes, there's no reason he won't do great in a back 4.

Oh and I could have added fouls given away per 90
Eaves 4.2
Magennis 1.0
Mainly because Magennis didn’t do half the running about and chasing down that Eaves does - tbh he looked disinterested and lazy a lot of times or just pissed off with Wilkes

Not sure if its the way we are playing with wing backs which tends to force Flemming up the park, but his defensive work is not nearly as good as he is going forward, almost akin to Robertson in his early days here. Definitely be interesting seeing how he fares in a flat 4.
