I was brought up with a small family, the family being my grandparents, and my mother.
Unfortunately between 1994 and 1999 they all passed away, leaving me with no other family.
This took it's toll and I sought counselling. Many friends were very helpful, but at times no doubt telling me what I wanted to hear. Things were not getting easier for me and it was suggested that counselling may help, somebody not emotionally attached to me and possibly able to help with a different mindset.
I found this a great help as I was being asked questions that made me think about things, things I had not thought of before.
Counselling has it's place, but not for everybody. For me it helped a lot.
