Given he doesn't seem to be able to shoot / cross etc but does seem to get back quite well and has a lot of energy - is it possible he could do a job at full back? I'd stick with fabio and Bosingwa when fit (so perhaps this thread is already redundant) but could it be an option for the future?

Loathe to try any more back 4 combinations when the defence needs consistency but... could it work?

Given he has the footballing brain of a gnat I wouldn't advise it. Mackie would do a better job there if we were really that desperate imo.

Whats the record for penalties given away in a season, Im sure wed beat that if he went to FB, he is the least intelligent footballer Ive ever seen.

He nearly always does the wrong thing. Park or Mackie would be better in an emergency and Id prefer either of those at RB and Boswinga at LB than Hill playing.

Indeed. I thought Mackie could have been used at right back against WBA with Bosingwa at left back.

Dear Chaz, it's so admirable and indicative of rrrs supporters that you are willing to try anything! Think this was doomed from the beginning, his best match was his very first against Newcastle where he ran them ragged and was so unlucky to be one on one with Krul and get it over him but with nowhere near enough power to beat the last defender who was 20 yards away at point of strike.
His "disallowed" goal against WBA was the final nail, his head never ever came back up, come to think of it that result against WBA also did for NW as we would have been well clear of relegation zone and probably played with a lot more panache the next 15 or so games!

The annoying this is most of the results have been wrong by 1 goal, just playing Taarabt or Hoilett instead of SWP would mean a goal in half of them and us being 5-6 more places up the table.

I'm sure he's a sound bloke but it says quite a lot about him as a footballer that his confidence can drop so quickly off the back of one or two bits of misfortune.

Especially as hes been back non stop by the crowd, not because hes good but because they like the song.

Imagine how bad hed be if the crowd got on his back?

The tide is as good as turned. We've been incredibly patient with him but the fans were calling for Hoilett on Saturday and Hughes just can't persist with him while Hoilett and Mackie gather dust

As amazing as it sounds, there used to be an England international footballer a few years ago with the same name as Shaun Wright-Phillips. Yes, really... look it up!
