Does it not. I saw it on newsnow, it's probably just rumours thou.

I looked there as well and it seems to have disappeared. I did notice there was a typo in the URL so that might be why it can't be accessed by us or any content management systems.

Mike white thinks this has mileage.

@mikewhitesport: Appears to be mileage in Costel Pantillimon to #hcafc reports. Told there's interest but not sure if reported McGregor deal changes that.

@mikewhitesport: Was aware of reports but didn't think/hadn't heard anything at time to suggest anything other than 'paper talk'. Found out more

@mikewhitesport: A good & reliable source

I wouldnt have thought we would spend 4 million on a goalie. That is over 25% of the total transfer budget they have said they would spend. It doesnt leave much for other signings.

Agreed. £1.8m gets us both Schwarzer and McGregor actually.

Maybe HCFC aren't gonna buy a lot of players, maybe 1 or 2 and then delve into the loan market?

Expect some loans in sometime in august once the big boys get back from pre-season globe troting tours. Man Utd kids more than likely imo.

Why the **** would we waste our 2 loan spots on untried kids in the premier league? I think it's far more likely to be older players who are surplus to requirements at their parent club but can't get a permanent move, shay given and his ilk (just an example I don't think we'll loan him)

Looks like we still have a chance with his ilk then!

They paid £3m for him, he's got three years left on his deal and they're not actively looking to get rid of him.

£1.5m won't be enough.

But he wants to go somewhere and they wont want an unhappy player on the bench. And if they want £3m+ then we shouldnt sign him, as that's worse value than McGregor at £1.8m.

It does seem that he wants out and that could pull the fee down a bit, but I still doubt we'd get him that cheap.

And they're both worse value than Schwarzer on a free.

You'll hear no argument from me and it would seem him and Borat would be best option as a pair. Both free, Schwarzer has a season as number 1 and passes on experience whilst the Turk gets aclimatised and then, if he's up to it, he takes over long term.

I'd sign em both on 2 year deals. Done.

That all depends on how well these players play. Schwarzer is 41 next, I think, and although he's free, that is very old, even for a goalkeeper.

Alan McGregor is, as I have said before, the best value out there. HOWEVER, if we could get Pantilimon for £3m then at 26, he must represent equally good value as he is 5 years younger than McGregor.

With the new manager coming in he has many options to make. And is weighing up who he see's has a future at the club!
So dont think we will here much till late on next week,

But £5mil does seem a bit much to a keeper that hasn't performed much
