1. Our immune system is the only reliable & effective way to combat a virus and only a sterilising immunity vaccine (which is very unlikely to be found), will eradicate it fully.
2. If you are healthy and fit your immune system will be at it's peak to combat infections or viruses , it is unlikely to affect you to a point of hospitalisation.
3.. If less patients receiving medical care for self inflicted health issues those affected would be able to receive treatment much quicker.
4. Plenty of Countries out there are nowhere near affected by this virus compared to UK and the US......The two Countries renowned for it's populations obesity.
There are plenty of things that affect entire Countries and Continents, how you deal as a society is key.
"Effective" vaccines (what is being dished out now) will not eradicate the virus and is unlikely to stop the spread, it only helps prevent serious illness.

, we will eventually have to learn to live with this virus, the best way would be, is to be as healthy and fit as possible to build up our strongest form of immunity ..The spreading of the virus is likely to continue for the foreseeable future, therefore it is likely that preventive measures will also continue.
Countries with healthier life styles will come out of this much quicker than we will in the UK..
