you totally miss the point being made, you pigeon hole it to on here! I stated elsewhere, "on here" we seem to be pretty respectful of what is requested. because we moan about having to do it but we do it. Out there in that world you do not seem to believe in [ re covid ] there are erjits, IQ zero's that blatantly flaunt the rules, who blatantly set out to ignore it, or it will happen to them, seemingly oblivious to the fact that indirectly by their actions they could be spreading it " reminds me of the driver who constantly believes he is the luckiest driver in the world" , says that "often when I look in my mirror I see I have just missed an accident" …. how long before scene changes! not a mirror but is luckiest person in the world as friends family neighbours, all get it, some serious and some die!

Up on the Breacon Beacons today had a huge amount of people out to see the snow, when we’re supposed to be level 4 over here.

under the rules unnecessary journey's comes to mind, and responsibility to protect emergency services... road conditions etc would surely not condone safe place to go for exercise did the police intervene. A family that went to the Scilly isles [Christmas eve? ] for Christmas & New year never got to their accommodation, were escorted straight back to their DEPARTURE destination, Penzance? … then escorted to their tier 4 zone. Still nice little trip on a helicopter for an hour or so then escorted back home ….. hope it was foggy!

We all take our chances day in day out, law of averages will determine whether we get struck by a bus or get Cancer or some other life threatening illness .
I will flaunt rules if it's to see my family, I will hug my children and my grand children, Life is for living and some of these stupid measures will not prevent me from doing so. To some, that might sound selfish and to be honest I don't give a $hit..

I don't make a point of hugging or breathing over strangers on the streets or anywhere else for that matter.
Although I find face coverings pointless, I'm obliged, with no choice other to wear one in shops. I don't go around touching things that I don't intend to purchase. I never sneeze or cough openly and I regularly wash hands. Most of these measures have never changed for me, it is how I was brought up!!

I have no intention of getting a vaccine as I've never done with flu or anything else in adulthood (apart from a tetanus back in the 80s) again, some may see that selfish, but unless I see proven (not media) evidence of it eradicating the spread then I see it as pointless, I'm happy personally to take my chances..

I don't believe the current death rate reported of having died of Covid, I don't believe most of the positive test results. I don't believe the hospitals are any busier than normal this time of the year, patients waiting in corridors, or ambulances, literally no beds, lack of doctors, consultants and nurses, it's normal.. Just been watching footage of Royal Hospital Gloucester over Christmas week, never seen a hospital so quiet....of course it helps with no drunken idiots, City Centre fights, less accidents on the roads etc and routine ops etc.

I respect those that don't share my views and also respect those that will abide by every rule and what they see as preventive measures and say good luck to you all........But I believe we have one life and I will do what I believe and what I think is right. If that's selfish to some..then so be it!!

Now I've had - and recovered from - Covid, and I'm no longer officially considered a danger of being a 'spreader', I guess I'm perfectly safe to go to the pub or restaurant - or anywhere now, as I can't possibly be carrying the virus.........(?)

Medical experts don't know that, as they are unsure for how long, same as vaccine ..you may be safe but you can still spread it by touching infected surfaces and moving it around.

Which is ok if you believe those Covid figures, which I categorically don't. A minimal Covid trace in any death is registered as a Covid Death. Not done with anything else. Even those dying from pneumonia which could be due to a mountain of complications is treated as a Covid death if tested positive, which have been found not to be accurate.

WOW … a weird way to express concern for your fellow man [or woman ] It is not a law of averages, you become a part of that "average" should you suffer from any of them. Being careful & watchful pretty much reduces succumbing to any of your first sentence.
It doesn't sound selfish ….it is! I could easily be, have been, a victim of covid had I flaunted the rules regarding family. 3 of 5 showed no real signs of having it but tested positive. I and my wife could have got it, carried it... my passing on [ either virus or pushing up next years dasies ] would have been zero! My wife works in a care home, it is very very aware of COVID, her PPE is 100% and sanitizing 150% everyday she comes home and everything goes in washing machine... but that is not to say she may have passed it on... !
to not care a **** is extremely selfish, after all you could infect your family/ they could infect you. LIFE IS FOR LIVING, OF COURSE think, take away covid and I may live another 10 years, FLAUNT COVID get ill and die in the next 3 months and I managed to live a constrained life for a few weeks … accept the situation, comply be a positive, that's a positive trying rid the world of the pandemic, as opposed to being a positive who may die and help kill... and you may get 10 years plus. (AS YOUR WAY OF THINKING GOES …. law of averages! ] WHY weight the balance against you?

I regard Cancer far far more dangerous. I'm not willing to miss out from those close to me for some out of proportion, media provoking, government controlling, with misleading and scaremongering false statistics for a flu like virus....

Its not a flu like virus. Its a SARS virus. Which is why it is far far more dangerous than flu and far far harder to control. Fortunately its fatality rate is not the same as its ancestor or 400000 could have died in the UK with a similar infection rate.

totally understandable, since when my dad got it in the late 60's when in his late 50's treatment has improved 1000% + but he had the same mindset .. a lot of cancer sufferer's do, we often say "if only knew when my time up, I could …." well cancer gives you that clue, covid doesn't! ..... his time had come, so set about making the most of what time he might have left... to a point he had a good employer who paid him till the end … and gave a fair bit of extra time off .. day 1 to end was 2 years ….
I would wish to cram in as much as possible should I fall foul to the same... however COVID is different kettle of fish, you can contract it and you can spread it... you cant transmit cancer in the same way!

Not sure how me having the vaccine helps the NHS concentrate on cancer and other life threatening diseases, especially with so much unknown of the affects and the unknown of how effective it really is.. As said before, I'm quite happy to take my chances. If it is 100% proven to eradicate the spread or is made compulsory to travel then I will review my decision!!

Yes Covid - 19 is caused by a SARS virus.

Covid 19 is harder to control not only because its new but because it requires SARS like control measures, measures that viruses like flu do not.

Its just a different strain of coronavirus ...You omitted that the coronavirus strain Covid-19 and SARS advances from is not the same as a cold. Use of just a could be your projection. By linking Covid -19 to just a flu or a cold you deny how dangerous Covid - 19 really is.

Pandemics have psychologies of acceptance, conforming and denial. The last has undoubtedly caused unnecessary deaths.

How might it help? Well should you choose not to have it then you will be a "permanent" path to get it should you wish to move around the society freely. Should you get it then depending on your bodies ability to resist you could spend time on a ventilator ..even put into a coma and heap mountains of grief stress worry on your nearest and dearest. Should it provide 90% cover [ you suffer a mild dose of covid ] or be 90% for you to develop anti bodies [ actually work for you ] then likelihood no hospital.
