<doh> 20 is the [HASHTAG]#official[/HASHTAG] number that IS included. The real number is in the hundreds.
So what is the real number then, you seem to have inside info (in the hundreds is only good enough if you believe everything you are told, accuracy is important)

It turns out China had broken down the virus and identified it in early January, but it was covered up. It is also being suggested that their death rate is in the region of 42 times higher than is being reported and the crematoriums in Whuan are still operating 24/7, but they have stopped their outbreak!!!!

Excellent twitter thread [HASHTAG]#exposing[/HASHTAG] the immense failure of Johnson's government.

The UK and Ireland started at about the same time with the same conditions, the UK government is lying about the number of deaths because it isn't testing enough, and even still people are dying over twice as fast in the UK (adjusted for population).

Do you think the Government are refusing to pay for PPE or do you think maybe the Pandemic has caused a world wide shortage?

The government were slow to buy PPE, and we have little manufacturing base to produce them.

My expectation is that we get over the worst, drop restrictions and then keep getting smaller outbreaks that are not as heavily reported until (as you have hinted) herd immunity kicks in fully.
Deaths in old people are easy to pass off as Pneumonia, most are put as that on certificates anyway without recording the cause which led to it.

You do know that herd immunity is an unproven theory, disputed by most specialists, unlike the genius that is Gollum Cummins?

Which really pisses me off, i would like to be told exactly what they should have done every step of the way, preferably before they do it and not in hindsight <laugh>

It's not hindsight. Many, many specialists around the world (including those from Italy and Spain who saw what was happening there) told the UK to stop dithering with unproven theories and get to lockdown, build up PPE and testing kits, and delay the peak until May. It wasn't unknown - it was a choice to put your whole stack on an unproved theory. It was a choice. A choice Germany didn't take.

And now we have that weasel Hancock firstly trying to blame the NHS staff for wasting the little PPE they have, and then denying that NHS staff have died because of lack of PPE, as stated by the BMA, by preposterously claiming that they must have caught it at home or at the shops.

Of course everyone saw it coming, it was ripping through the world <doh>

Shame no one could stop it eh, regardless of what they did.

Yeah, Germany took that view and just sat on its hands and waited. Not.

They've made errors, even at the time you could see a lockdown was needed earlier than it was implemented.

Some things though are 50/50 depending on what your priorities are. Chatting to a friend and he posed the hypothetical would you let 20,000 die now so in the future millions arnt plunged into debt or destitution with the associated deaths and destruction that would bring?

I dont think I'd like to be the one making the choices

How about you 'let' a quarter of that die at most (including our NHS staff now being thrown into the epicentre Chernobl-style) and avoid as much debt as possible? Btw, whatever happens to the economy, we never took that attitude during two world wars, and really did bankrupt ourselves so that our children would be free.

And if we do nothing it won't be 20k - it'll be in the 100k's. And we'll literary kill most of our NHS and care staff. Think, man.

Your friend is living in the real world mate, these are choices we hope we will never have to face because we know that those who make them will always be wrong to some people whichever way they go.

And Johnson and Cummins have managed to kill more people than necessary AND destroy the economy. They made choices that they were told were wrong from the beginning, not with hindsight.

Haway Liverpool! Can’t believe there’s even the possibility of you losing the league this year. If that was us in that position I’d be fuming! Klopp & Pool have shown City you don’t need to just repetitively spend **** loads of money, you need a manager with passion who connects with the fans and sees a gem in a player. Real club.

I'd take 20k now. As it stands we're on for 37k plus the debt.

Coronavirus: UK could be 'worst affected' country in Europe

Sir Jeremy, a member of the government's Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (Sage), told the BBC's Andrew Marr Show the "remarkable" scale of testing in Germany had been key to keeping the number of hospital admissions for coronavirus lower than in the UK.

Sir Jeremy said testing allowed countries to isolate people with Covid-19, preventing them from transmitting the virus to others, as well as buying time for hospitals to prepare.

"Undoubtedly there are lessons to learn from that," he added.
