Not voting guarantees you have no voice in what happens.
Personal choice and all that, but as a point of principle I don’t get it. The excuse that if everyone did it there’d be change is idealistic claptrap, as that’ll never happen.
That said, our electoral system is archaic and even for millions of those who do vote, their vote is virtually guaranteed to mean zilch, as if you’re voting in a constituency where the incumbent MP has a huge majority you’re almost certainly pissing in the wind if you’re voting for someone else. Also, any new parties can’t get representation in Parliament that represents their share of the vote, as their voters are likely to be scattered around.
It’s long overdue for change.
