They'll just give your child the vaccine in a school. You wouldn't be there and you would have been overruled. It's called Gillick competence.

I'm leaving it there cos it's clearly an emotive subject for you.

Yes, you are leaving it there.

If my kids school give a vaccine to one of my children without my consent I would prosecute them.

I don't care what bollocks you've read somewhere, that would never happen.

Can't talk for all schools but all the ones I know of through work have all reassured parents of under 16 year old that they are not going to give the vaccine with out parental consent as it would break any working relationship with the school.

Nice to see Trebs on here. It means Aber hasn't went and 'hammered' him, yet :emoticon-0141-whew:

Trebs is scared of needles......he be getting the tea and biscuits ready for Mr Powell the sports teacher or he be in a head lock again

They could if they wanted to, though. They do have that right.

Cheers for firing this back up again <laugh>

The stupidity of giving children a vaccine where nobody knows the future issues it may cause is very very risky indeed........now when people claim kids can make a decision for themselves based on the information available can anyone really tell me that they understood the entire leaflet inside the jab box......I'd say you didn't even read it let alone understand every fking word of it so please don't try fooling yourself into the wrong decision for children because some big pharmaceutical puppet said so

No they don't ffs.........so who makes the decision a child is capable of knowing the leaflet medical terms inside jab box.

kids are able to make these sort of choices at 16, but not 15.
Are we already in a state controlled environment, parent overall say in children’s lives when most at 15 have access to more information than their parents have ever had.

However not knowing the long term impact of a vaccine, but willing to take a risk with unknown side effects of Covid that kills kids is the anti vaxx adult way of thinking.

Wrong <ok>

Covid teams can vaccinate pupils against parents’ wishes, schools told

Guidelines say health staff can decide whether children receive jab without parental consent, as headteachers fear protests.

The guidelines say vaccinations for children aged 12 to 15 will be administered by School Age Immunisation Service (SAIS) teams that already carry out flu and human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccinations in England. The role of schools will be limited to providing a site and distributing information and consent forms to pupils and parents.

In cases where parents withhold consent but the child wants to go ahead, the guidelines say the vaccination teams will determine if the child is able to make an informed decision – known as Gillick competence – and “make every effort to contact a parent to check before they proceed”.

“If a parent objects to their child being vaccinated but the child wants to be vaccinated and is judged to be Gillick competent, the healthcare professional will try to reach agreement between the parent and child. However, the parent cannot overrule the decision of a Gillick competent child,” the guidelines state. In that scenario the child will be vaccinated.

Great, letting all people have a free choice is the way to grow a society. People chose not have the jabs and are totalling up over 98% of this years deaths.
But a 15 year old wants to increase their chance of living a long and healthy life….parents say no?

I would love to see them try to stick a needle in my 12 year old sons arm without my consent. The scenes.

You can keep tripping this utter bollocks out as much as you like, there is not a school in this country would dare to do this, and the government wouldn't dare to enforce it either.

It would be hilarious as I remove their head from their shoulders.

Why do you keep missing the '12 to' bit that goes before fifteen?

TWELVE year olds.

Not ****ing happening, and no, they aren't in a position to make that call themselves.

My eldest has had his vaccine invite.

He's fifteen. I'm leaving it up to him, I absolutely won't force him to have it and if he does decide to go for it then I'll accept it as his choice. Apparently Welsh assembly 'approving' it for 12-15 years olds. My two youngest two will 100% definitely not be having this. Well, my middle one anyway, my youngest is too young.

No one has explained to me why this age group needs a vaccine. No one, had many conversations amongst friends etc., listened to and read all the media output, and we're utterly baffled.

If this virus was a risk to this age group the BBC would have been all ****ing over it like a tramp on chips, so they clearly are not at risk.

Plus, we are told, they can still catch and transmit it anyway, so what's the point?

I'd love to hear the reasoning if anyone has it?

And please don't say they've had other vaccines so this one is ok, as that just doesn't really make sense. I am talking about this vaccine. For a virus that doesn't do them any harm.
Well the Joint committee for immunology and vaccines ( or something like that ) didn't recommend that 12 - 15 year olds be offered the vaccine as the medical benefits were negligible at most , however they said other considerations may need to be considered . From that the decision was made to offer it , and as far as i could make out the main driver behind the decision was to stop disruption to schooling however it was never made full clear as far as i could tell .

Yeah it's funny how this always gets forgotten. You get morons claiming people are putting their kids at risk when if it was purely about health then they wouldn't be getting offered it at all.

I think you're right about the disruption to schooling too if I'm remembering rightly.
