It's proper pissed the Chinese off as well, saying it now intesifies the arms race. They've been looking for a fight with someone for a long time anyway, because they never have liked the criticism over their detention centres and their interning of the Uyghurs. I don't personally have a problem with the Chinese but we all know it's going to kick off one day.

China and France denounce new military alliance between US, UK and Australia
The security cooperation, known as AUKUS, aims to update and enhance alliances between the three countries so as to “meet the threats of today and tomorrow” in the Indo-Pacific, US President Joe Biden said in a press conference, and its first initiative is to deliver a nuclear-powered submarine fleet for Australia. The new arrangement resulted in Australia scrapping a $90 billion contract signed with France in 2016. On Thursday, France’s Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian called the decision a “stab in the back,” while a Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson said the AUKUS deal “seriously damages regional peace and stability” and “intensifies the arms race.”
If it kicks off it'll be in some outpost in the China Sea somewhere where they have a base. It'll involve something getting blown up, but no one will want to escalate it to a full blown conflict.
The original deal with French company NAVAL was doomed from the start. Modifying the current nuclear Barracuda design to a shorter diesel/electric version and needing over 50% in Australia content.

Yeah I can imagine it’s getting harder for clinicians as most of the beds are being taken by those who’ve chosen not to take the vax. I read about a guy in Ireland yesterday who was removed from hospital by a combination of family & conspiracy nuts in a filmed debacle of bullshit. It’s a sad state of affairs and must break the hearts of Drs, nurses, support staff who battled hard pre vaccine. Now they see wards full of the unvaccinated, but if a slap in face really.
But that’s what they do, equal care for all, even if it seems a losing battle and other services are being impacted due to lack of beds/staff.
the Nursing and Doctors Unions fought hard and won to stop mandatory vaccination of NHS staff unlike care staff so lets not get too righteous about this .
hey, they are having to treat the unvaccinated. If I were NHS I would be pissed if they were unvaccinated NHS or not.
