So based on conversations I'm hearing around the hospital. Don't let your guard down if you've been vaccinated but it's over six months since your last booster.

Sounds like the vaccine is probably a lot less effective over time that the authorities are letting on. Make sure you get your next booster after six months if it becomes available to you... The standard two give you great short term protection but it doesn't last long.

yeah a study hear showed noticeable drop in efficacy after iirc 5 months

Booster to be offered to the 500,000 immunosuppressed immunocompromised first. Then I guess a trickle down to the rest.

the uptake of 50% 16-17 year olds in England and 70% in Wales is great

It will be interesting to see at what point you require a booster to be classed as fully vaccinated.

I got my second shot Jan 18th... I consider myself a sitting duck now. It's not official, but anecdotally I consider myself not fully vaccinated anymore.

mine was early Feb, expecting an invite for the booster early September. Best thing is infrastructure is still in place to get the 500,000 most at risk done quickly.

Infrastructure is overkill where I am. At our facility we've been operating far lower numbers than we could have for administration vaccine.

Beds is a different story, we keep breaking records for people on ventilators or bed occupancy... But we have easy overflow of capacity to vaccinate. People just aren't showing up.

The ones who haven’t had it, they are on ventilators….

Oh we have plenty of people who have been vaccinated on ventilators too! But, they do tend to have other conditions like diabetes or obesity that put them in a high risk bracket naturally.

-edit.
Looked up today's numbers, about 12% of our patients in critical condition with COVID are vaccinated.

These anti vaxx people are real smart….

not gonna take anything that they don’t know what’s in it…..
