Portugal is still green and so is Gibraltar. But the problem is they'll end up being packed.

Malta looks like going on the green list today. Possibly the Canary Islands and Morocco as well.

So much for that <laugh>

Think I'll just settle for a Madeira cake.

Reactions: Archers Road
I'm not going anywhere hordes of my fellow Brits are going. Which only leaves the allotment really. And Hampstead Ponds, if you don't mind the water rats.

I'm the same mate, was offered to go to Cornwall (paid for as well) next week, I politely declined, the thoughts of spending time with other fellow Brits is a thing of nightmares for me. I'm old, I really don't need screaming kids and parents behaving badly. Snobbish maybe, but it's akin to going to Benidorm.

I think this turning on and off of the travel industry is no longer acceptable. You can't one minute say it's a green country, then a few weeks later remove it. If it was acceptable for the Champions League, the powers that be accepted that hundreds if not thousands of people can congregate for the final, you can't then decide after the event that a family now can't go to enjoy a one week break in the same country, under the same conditions.

For nearly three weeks Belgium's leading virologist has been living in a safehouse with his wife and 12-year-old son, guarded by security agents.

While scientists across the world have come under attack throughout the pandemic, the threat to Prof Marc Van Ranst is more serious than most.

He has been targeted by a far-right soldier, Jürgen Conings, who has a vendetta for virologists and Covid lockdowns. The military shooting instructor is on the run with a rocket launcher and a machine gun, and Belgian police cannot find him.
