Only the thing is they don’t just ‘share his views’ on vaccines, they literally created the entire anti vax ‘industry’ that he’s now bought into.

A former colleague of mine had an autistic son who was at the extreme end of the spectrum, and at the time he, like you, completely bought the conspiracy theory, as it was put forward as being a legitimate medical paper (which it never was obvs) and he spent years not only convinced that his son had become autistic because of MMR but worse still that it could somehow be ‘undone’ which was the snakeoil that Wakefield and others then went on to try and punt. It tortured him for years, as he felt his son deserved ‘justice’ and that he could somehow be helped. ****ing cruel ****.

I think this is the worst part of it. There are so many people out there just like them. If you have kids, you can only imagine the anguish they would've been duped into going through. That feeling that it was something done to their child, how the fck do you overcome that especially when it's not true.

Did you see that part in the documentary where parents were collecting bits of their kids' own bowels, which were coming out of them after giving them that bleach concoction. That was horrific. Fcking hell, imagine getting people to do that to their own kids and then collecting it in jars to show the bleach was working! Fcking hell mate, ffs!

Sometimes when you are desperate for a cure, you will do anything. But how these people have no idea the damage what they push will do, or if they do only look at profit.
As most alternative treatment isn’t controlled/regulated then you have no way to get justice for the damage you have done/they have sold you.

Anyone thinking of going to Portugal?

Sounds like it could be culled from the green list. :bandit:

I've enjoyed the hot weather recently. It's made me want to go away over the summer but there are so many variables and potential pitfalls that I've hesitated from committing to it. What you've just posted is typical of that.

Suggestions that it will be announced on Friday, that Portugal will be moved off the Green list. Because of yet another variant! Either that or they just want us to spend our money in the UK.

I had an 18day break in the UK last month and spent 10days of it self-isolating, followed by a further 5 days in hotel quarantine when I got back. I had to have a total of 6 obligatory PCR tests during that period. I spent another 2hrs queuing to be vaccinated and a further day suffering from the effects of the vaccination. Unless things change I will have to go through the whole thing again at the end of July for my 2nd vaccination.

Any holidays I take with my wife this year will be spent either in the back garden in Manchester or up in the Lake District or Scotland. I have no intention of adding to the hassle to take a few days break in mainland Europe.

Brittany Ferries took the balance on my payment on the same day France said we weren't allowed in without having to test and then quarantine, given the new and very convenient back in your box variant.

BF then cancelled all ferries to France until July.

So, switched the outgoing to Bilbao just now, and we were coming back from Spain anyway, so will holiday in Spain this year, assuming they go green! There is absolutely **** all of any interest available in Britain so it's either that or don't go anywhere or do anything this summer.

It was inevitable the French would put blockers onto things as soon as they could hang their hat on a new variant.

Portugal is still green and so is Gibraltar. But the problem is they'll end up being packed.

Malta looks like going on the green list today. Possibly the Canary Islands and Morocco as well.

I'm not going anywhere hordes of my fellow Brits are going. Which only leaves the allotment really. And Hampstead Ponds, if you don't mind the water rats.

Booked two breaks in U.K., Scotland around the Laws area and on IOW. Amazing places, loads to do and I don’t have to worry about isolation etc and have Covid cover. Booked em all before confirmation on tiers for coming out of lockdown so didn’t overpay.
Take little one out of school for a week at end of month for one and in summer break for other.

Plan is to head off through Cantabria and Galicia, towards La Coruna.

Can't see hoards of Brits there, which would be a massive bonus.

Never been to Galicia but I've heard the coastline is spectacular. San Sebastian and the Basque Country are also beautiful, if you decide to head the other way from Bilbao.

That's the way we usually travel through.

Got a booking in Biarritz that we'll keep if France opens up, but that looks doubtful now.

Not too far to hop from Bilbao to Biarritz, otherwise stay along north coast of Spain.

Feel ill as **** today. Which has reminded me of something mentioned previously. After the past year or so everyone's immune system is gonna be ****ed due to the lack of mixing with others. Can see us having a bad flu season this winter.

Welcme to my world!

I have just managed to pick up the gastroenteritis/rotovirus from my lad. They give a live vaccine and....yeah, im laid up shaking like a ****ting dog. But it has dropped baby death rates since its introduction so I can suffer for that.
