the numbers got me
100m from A
40m from B
16m from C
60m from D
20m from E

how many people do they think live here <laugh>
then you realise they assumed some would fail or be later than others .

Scenario for you...

If a patient has the first and second doses of a particular vaccine, and it's found not to be that effective at a later date. Could that patient, then be given additional doses from another vaccine, and if so, how soon after? [HASHTAG]#Pick[/HASHTAG]&Mix

Do we have assurances that mixing them up like that won't turn them into zombies?

yes presumably straight away however approved ones have been shown to be effective* but with varying degrees of protection .

The astrazeneca vaccine has limited data on its effectiveness in over 65's as not enough in the trial group caught covid - a worry i seem to remember the Oxford scientists publicly worried about in the summer due to falling infection rates here .

Do we reckon there's much chance of getting a holiday to Europe this Summer?

Tempted to book some flights now for June with the thought that prices will rocket further down the line.

I think the problem will be, that even if we are all vaccinated in the UK, the EU may not be. So I think those EU countires may restrict your travel, even if you have proof of vaccination. Just a guess, one that I hope is wrong, but as the weeks pass by, I think the first chance of air travel will be 2022.

Think Spain came out last week and said late summer, if that!

I was thinking that tbf, but on the other hands some countries rely massively on tourism and won't want to lose out completely for the second year running. Little risk in letting someone in who's vaccinated too.

Think some will and some won't depending on how the next 3 months or so go. So will definitely be a gamble, but one that might pay off as prices will definitely rocket if and when there's an announcement of countries accepting tourists.

Have you not got last year's money that you didn't spend?

The money's not an issue as such, but I'd rather have 3 trips away than 2 if I can. Planning on one domestic and one abroad but if I can get something dirt cheap now I can probably squeeze another in.

In the same boat myself, flight vouchers, deposits from last year, Ryanair will take your money but whether you fly or not is another story, France and Spain not looking good at the moment.

Bit concerned about this South African strain, mainly because one of the affected postcodes is N17, which is a bit close to home for me.

Any Spus fans on here live in N17? (There's a joke there, I know)

@Dier Hard , think you're from that manor, you still live there? Do you have to stay indoors now until you get a test?

I'm not quite N17 mate, albeit a 5-10 minute journey South and I would be, so as far as I'm aware I'm not under any extra guidelines other than the national stuff. I'm working from home too so haven't been out too much other than for a bit of shopping but if I head out any time soon and get mobbed by people in hazmats I'll try and notify you.

Ha, yeah, don't want to go out the front door and be confronted by a goon squad.

I'm in N10, just wondering if I need to stock up on baked beans and bogroll before the whole of North London gets confined to barracks.

Got mine today, it’s ****ing snowing here. Just my effing luck.
