I've lost two mates to it. Another old friend of mine lost his old man to it yesterday.

Nasty ****ing virus.

Any **** who underplays this needs a slap imo.

fortunately not taken anyone I know. But the difference between my Mrs and my friend getting it is miles apart from what it did to them.

Mrs was about 14 wk pregnant and I was terrified. Then having to isolate with her, especially on my meds was horrible. Didn’t feel like I was caring for her enough, she wanted to keep me safe.

it can go **** off, can’t wait for my jab.

Sounds like a tough gig that mate.

When is your missus due ?

So have you been told officially that's the group you're in, or are you over 70?

transplant patient. So in the 70-74 group, had a call with consultant and he told me. But it’s now on GP to make sure that’s the case, get my clinical extremely vulnerable letters from them so pretty confident I will.

been in house almost exclusively since March 17th and been out other than supermarket/butchers about 5 times socially.
Loads of solo outings on bike, but **** me I hate to think how mentally the older ones have got on.

she looks fat at the moment so I guess.....about 14 weeks from now. Hope hospitals are clear by then so I am able to be with her all time, not just when it’s legs up time.

Lost a mate call Ben. He was quite high profile, musician called TY who lived in London. Was a really big deal when he died as he was my age 47 and fit as a butcher's dog. It was during the first wave and it demonstrated how bad it could get.

Lost another mate down here called Sonny. He was an older bloke who'd smoked all his life so his lungs were ****ed anyway. Maybe a bad bout of Flu or Pneumonia would have got him eventually ?

Folk will argue over figures till the cows come home, but nearly 90k excess deaths says this is a bad ****ing virus.

Isn't Duggie the oldest on here, expect he will get it first. Isn't it over 80's then over 70's.

Sorry if you're not Duggie, but I thought I saw you mention your age one time.

Feels wrong that I've been offered it before many on here tbh.

Especially as if it doesn't stop you carrying or transmitting then it potentially doesn't have much of an affect?

This your first bro ?

second. I’m just wrong side of 40 to be starting again.
First is nearly 7 and I said that was that. But Covid, lockdown and a drunken backyard BBQ with the Mrs changed all that.

day before she told me I had been laughing with neighbour as he has 4 and they had been a nightmare so was having a few fence beers with him, telling him would be mad to have more than one.

If it wasn’t for Covid I was going to get fixed.

if you get it because of health or being a key worker then that’s cool.

having the jab means that your body will identify and kill it off faster. Meaning even without symptoms you are less of a transmission risk, so getting it protects the vulnerable people, like the flu jab does.
