What's your evidence for it making things worse out of interest? Are you talking just that people will be more slack elsewhere and/or not use them correctly or are you saying that they themselves make it worse?

A surgeon is very specific about the safety measures that he takes in theatre - he has been trained this way.

The wearing of a mask is merely one measure taken among many, and which together form the barrier. The wearing of a mask, taken in isolation in a sterile setting, by a trained professional who changes protective gear (including the mask) on a regular basis, cannot be compared with an ordinary citizen wearing a substandard ****ty, sweaty, contaminated mask in the ordinary outside world.

It astounds me that people are trying to debate this issue.

The mask might make you feel safer, but it is a dangerous illusion.

I didn't mention surgeons mate.

So your evidence that it will make things worse is that people will be more slack elsewhere with hand washing/keeping distance etc. as well as not using the mask correctly?

Wouldn't say that I completely disagree with that tbh, but still think it will have a small impact.

Actually I know it will, because I've seen it.

So again, if worn properly and in conjunction with hand washing and social distancing, face masks can aid in the reduction of transmission rates.

What you are talking about is poor human behaviour, not the efficacy of face masks.

I just watched a mainstream news item where the shill presenter even said that people shouldn't try to buy the masks that health professionals wear, because these are the proper masks that protect you and they should be reserved for essential workers that need them, and then she pressed on with the propaganda agenda that everyone must wear a mask!

Utterly unbelievable. These people are genuinely ripping the piss out of us, and you idiots are sucking up every last drop!
<laugh>

You are purposely missing the very clear point that I have made twice.

I have no intention of trying for a third time.

A dangerous illusion you say.

And to think, this is coming from literally the same bloke who tried to tell us all that COVID 19 was just a bad cold a few months back, before 60,000+ UK citizens and counting carked it from contracting it.

If you are happy with it, crack on. I would not want to restrict your freedom to wear a mask.

What the **** are you talking about ?

It's right to note that the public shouldn't buy up the N95 masks and leave a supply gap for the medical community that are using them in Covid infected wards. That's a completely different thing from face coverings and cloth masks being worn in shops.

So you've got no answer about your clear evidence then? A link will do.

As I said I don't particularly like wearing one but it's hardly a big deal so I will. It's ridiculous to say it's a restriction of freedom too, as i've already been wearing one for work and I don't feel any less free.

If your doctor told you they suspected you had cancer would you refuse to go for the scan?

Please don't just blubber on about surgeons in a theatre environment again. I work for quite a large trust and was in a theatre on Friday so am fully aware of the procedure thanks.

You haven't made any clear point HIAG. You've tried to deflect from the evidence of the efficacy of face masks by saying that poor hygiene can cause problems.

As I've made clear to you. That is about human behaviour, not face masks.

I believe these numbers have been greatly exaggerated.

In any one year, 650,000 people worldwide die from flu. Millions die every year from heart disease and cancer.

I question why this particular virus has been targeted for the draconian curtailing of basic freedoms. Why are you intent on denying me the right to do that?

I don't know if I have or not. I do know I've had something.

You could pay a TV crew to document people who die of normal flu, and make it look horrific.

What I'm saying is, the media is reporting on only that relatively small number of people who have a bad reaction to the virus, whether they live or die.

It skews public perception and helps to feed the fear mongering.
Here comes a floater

Lol!

Do you actually listen to the stupid things you spout?

The public have to wear a face "covering" because the actual masks that doctors choose to use must only be used by doctors!

You've been spouting nonsense about how studies show that wearing a surgical mask will definitely stop viruses, and now you're saying that any old ****ty "covering" will do!

Utterly unbelievable!
