when they first started talking about loosening the lockdown then hesitated my immediate thought was that they had expected the number of deaths to continue to fall at the same rate but in fact the fall , while still happening , rather plateaued.
The number of new infections may just be a reflection of the increase in testing picking up those who previously would never have known .
