Number of deaths in the U.S. went up 2336 in one day ffs! How the fck is that acceptable?

And there are genuinely people in the administration who think the situation is improving <doh>

Current table of the Special Club:

1) U.S. 28,383 dead
2) Italy 21,645 dead
3) Spain 18, 708 dead
4) UK... reporting 12,868 (but likely to be around 18,000 due to 11 day lag in figures)
5) France 17, 167

All qualifying for the Champions League of cluster fcks.

Honourable mentions to China and Iran who are currently being investigated for irregular betting patterns.

Massive gap between the Top 5 and the rest whose death total is only 30% (4500). Yep a massive 12,500 gap! <yikes>

But hey, the UK response has been great.

So you think it's ok for him to tell people (and me) to kill themselves and send abusive PM's?

Sorry mate, but I try my best to keep the peace on here, I don't deserve any of that.
Hes not the only one to do that !

How accurate are other countries figures and who has confirmed them?

Not sure why we are 4th in that table either <laugh> Folk are desperate to try and make this look as bad as possible for the UK government. China will have had way more deaths than the UK, probably Iran, too. We have no idea how accurate all the other countries are too.

How, by locking people down?
Yes, mass testing and a controlled lockdown would have contained the spread of the virus better than calling it a hoax or saying it’s ok to shake hands. As I’ve said before, eradicating the virus is impossible at the moment. It currently only needs one person on the planet to be carrying the virus for it to still exist. All isolation and social distancing measures are designed to minimise the spread and help the medical services to cope with the virus. It’s so basic that only utter morons don’t understand that.

Somebody posted a link on here yesterday reporting on "unreported" figures, it didn't explain what report the unreported figures came from

You've missed the point. As has @Diego sadly. It doesn't really matter whether we're 4th or 5th or even 6th. It doesn't even matter if Iran and China are on the same numbers. The fact is we're in a group with numbers of deaths which is disproportionately higher than the rest of the world. It's not a difficult concept to grasp.

What's desperate is that people's only argument is to try to muddy the data rather than accept we shouldn't be anywhere near that group <ok>

It’s not a competition. I don’t think I’ve ever encountered someone like you in real life. If I had done I’d have assumed they were mimicking a Fast Show character.

Disappointing that we’ve slipped below Djibouti now for tests per capita. Not sure we can put that down to Djibouti’s huge manufacturing sector.

So basically if we had locked down sooner the need for mass testing would be pointless?

Testing does **** all in a situation like this unless you have a vaccine to combat it.
