You also need to take into consideration the loan deals in the lower leagues. My own club has something like 6-7 loan deals (I think we have more loan deals than we are allowed to put in our match day squad?) and these players will be going back to parent clubs before June. If you add that to yearly contracts, it affects something like 12-14 of out 1st team squad in total. I know most who support PL teams probably don’t care, but this model is common in the lower leagues and will add huge costly complexities to clubs that survive on small budgets.

Exactly. I’ve made the point several times about the number of yearly ending contracts being far greater further down the leagues. The loans deals issue is another one, the usual suspects will say just extend them, but what if the parent clubs quite fancied having a player back for their own squad given the opportunity?

There’s nothing the football authorities can legislate here, they can merely suggest, as the contracts issue goes beyond football governance and is an employment law issue. Each separate case would need to be resolved at club / player / agent level.

I would say Leicester players have earned their bonuses for winning a CL place. So does Leicester pay them?

Nope, the league must be finished otherwise it's financially untenable. Voiding the season is voiding many clubs' existence. This clip is linked to whether people will enjoy watching PL games behind closed doors.

I think Tobes and many others on here have lost touch with the game. The vast majority of fans don't get to go in person, let alone have a season ticket. Season ticket holders are the 1% taking their privilege for granted.

Nightingale hospital going up a few miles from mine and trucks in the car park as a temp mortuary. The north east is continuing to be the biggest rise of infections in the UK and I know of 2 pubs in my hometown that are still having lock-ins. We’ll be the last area to have restrictions lifted.

They haven’t earned a thing, as they weren’t guaranteed a CL place.

As for that pointless video, we’ll be out of complete lockdown by the time football is allowed to resume in any form. The interest in behind closed doors games will be very short lived, as they’re absolutely ****e to watch.

Yeah I’m privileged to pay for my seats every year, and travel around 5,000 miles a season to go to the game.

I’m out of touch though eh, it’s millennials sat in their Ma’s boxroom watching snide streams, paying **** all and sacrificing nothing, who are the real stalwarts here.
