The girl doing sign language on sky, seriously needs to sack her dress designer.

I've not seen it, but I know the Scottish daily briefing normally has a sign language person. Generally they are stickin two fingers up behind Sturgeons back ;)

I don't know if you saw it a couple days ago over the Scottish Minister who visited her second home, Nicola Sturgeon was taking an absolute battering by the media, it was like watching a slaughter by TV.

I blame @A.L.D.O 4.1

Re-opening schools would endanger those with underlying health problems with school age kids.

My missus has had her letter and it basically advises her to isolate herself from me and the girls within our house. I should have had a letter but haven't. One of my team had a lung removed from lung cancer and is on a phased work return ... she hasn't yet had her letter despite recently having seen her consultant and being told that she would be at very high risk should she contract the virus. Such, inconsistencies re the letters don't help.

My missus is worried that they will soon lift the travel bans and that my return to work could mean be bringing it back home even if I have mild symptoms ... for her it could be fatal. Similarly, our youngest going back to a school of 2000 could mean the same.
I bet your Mrs made that letter up herself.

I agree.

In someways I wished it was pissing down, at least then we could be smug about the weather. But this is going to be the one Easter weekend where the weather sticks two fingers up at us all, while the sunshine blazes down laughing!

Yeah, and I would normally expect to be working, but I've got all four days off. So I can spend them looking out the window.

Got lots of books to read, and the OU have quite a few free courses. I would normally be nagging my son about how much time he's spending on his PlayStation, but I won't be saying a word til all this **** is over.

the story behind some of these disputes is farcical.

The imperial guy used to work at oxford, he left after accusing a woman scientist of sleeping her way to the top. She took him to court and won the case.

She is now leading the research at oxford and the two teams wont speak to each other, instead using other scientists as proxies to discredit each others research.

It's all very sad an unnecessary at a time when when decision makers in this country require clarity. Better off looking abroad and listening to the WHO for guidance tbh.

Funnily enough, I was told recently by someone who was a working scientist but is now a science writer/journalist, that the scientific community is riddled with jealousy, petty rivalries and vendettas. Which is a ****ing tragedy if you think about it.

These are contingencies that we’ve put in place for a pandemic.

We were told a few months ago that we didn’t have enough room for one child in our hospitals and his mum posted pics of him online, lying on the floor in a hospital.

We evidently need to provide a better service, my question was to ascertain what other nations who are better prepared than us, look like. Seems Germany lead the way, through proactive measures, not just more beds, is that assumption correct?
Pretty much yes from what we can see.i"be been pleasantly surprised by how well the NHS frontline services are holding up tbh though we won't know for sure until the review is carried out afterwards.

Alcohol poisoning kills hundreds in Iran
More than 600 people have died of alcohol poisoning in Iran since the beginning of the coronavirus outbreak, a judicial spokesman has said.

Another 3,000 people were still ill, he said, adding that people had been drinking unsafe alcohol in the mistaken hope it would protect them from the virus.

A number of people responsible for illegally producing alcohol have been arrested, according to the spokesman.

Coronavirus: Offline sex workers forced to start again online

Most sex workers meet customers in person. For them, the coronavirus spells economic ruin.

"The virus is a disaster for client-facing businesses - and sex work is no different," says Goddess Cleo, a dominatrix from London.

"Most of my income is generated from one-on-one sessions and events. I [normally] only make a bit of money through online avenues."

But like many others, Cleo has switched focus to digital since the lockdown came into effect.

They have a huge heroin problem in Iran. Deaths from that will probably dwarf those alcohol figures

Like they did it with professor nuts drug and alcohol research..... Government didn't like researchers answers so sacked original scientist and got a yes man scientist in instead.

Abuse of knowledge and truth is how this **** continues.

People don't like being wrong..... This site is a good example of what I mean.... Question a fixed belief system and you get abused for thinking differently and eventually silenced through moderators who either take it personal or get bullied into acting out the wishes of a mob.

Ok I’ll bite.

Give an example of when this has supposedly happened?

I’ll wait.
