The misery reporting media should be banned.

Agreed. The Metro has been one of the worst offenders. My tablet keeps getting loads of updates from them, **** knows why as I never click on any of them. But it’s all negative.

I’m not a child and I don’t need to be shielded from reality when reality is a bit ugly. But I don’t need a relentless diet of bad news stories when I know there is good stuff happening too.

Why is it that a thousand acts of random kindness go unreported, while every **** thing that happens gets a banner headline? The news media can **** right off to the same bin as Richard Branson and that Wetherspoons dick.

Surely if our government can install laws on its people that makes a democracy locked down, then surely the government can requisition these production lines.

They haven’t installed any new laws though have they? We are apparently being policed by consent.

If Old Bill want to disperse any gatherings, for example, they would have to use existing laws I believe? Could get a bit tricky if any of that come to court, but in the meantime they don’t need much excuse to bang you up in a cell for 24 hours.

I thought the new measures gave them the right to disperse groups of more than two people or face 'possible' fines?

Yes they have. They passed a bill before Parliament closed to deal with the emergency powers required.

The issue being, that the new powers in the law don’t mirror the advice given by the Govt. hence the reason there’s been some ridiculous interpretations by different plod divisions. They’ve basically been threatening people with prosecution for breaking laws that don’t exist.

Yeah, seems I'm behind the times (again). Just seen Tobes'post.

No probs mate. I was discussing it the other night on here, wasn't sure how long these new rules were to be in place. I thought it could be up to two years, but someone else said 6 months....so all a bit confusing to be fair.

I don't like this idea where some countries are using phone data to track people, all sounds a bit big brotherish to me. Ah getting too old for this world. Suppose as we've enjoyed the luxuries of the digital world it was going to bite us back somehow, once governments start controlling it for their own purposes. Where's @aberdude at times like this [HASHTAG]#Lizards[/HASHTAG]

France have had similarly large numbers, I was shocked to see they're still producing casualties larger than the UK's daily despite being in lockdown for longer than than most.

To be a little optimistic I believe the NHS, even is underfunded before this crisis, is still one of Europe's better national healthcare services. I'm still under the belief that the UK, France and Germany will not see this spiraling out of control like it has done in Italy and Spain.

Germany mate. Just Germany.

At times like this the whole world should just hand over their keys to the very efficient Germans.
