This is not only a completely fatuous argument it also contains ‘facts’ that aren’t facts.
Firstly, why use the season death stats for the 17/18 winter season, and not either of the 2 that have followed it?
Could it be that the 17/18 figure was twice that of the 25k for the 2 following years?
Secondly, the figure you quoted isn’t a measure of deaths above seasonal expectations, it’s a figure than compares the death rate to the 3 months prior and the 3 months post.
Thirdly, those people didn’t die due to a ‘cold snap’ the vast majority of the deaths that make up this figure are over 75’s, who’s cause of death can be anything from falling down the stairs, to dementia, to flu.
Lastly, using that stat to then try and make out that COVID-19 is somehow a lesser deal, is both disingenuous, and either plain ****ing dumb, or utterly dishonest (I suspect the former given its you).
