I saw a week or two back disturbing footage that I can't find to post on here, but it was truly horrific. My guess is London and all it's surrounding areas must near the 10 mill population of Lombardy and it's going to go exactly the same way. Those people that thought it was smart to be going for that last pint yesterday, could seriously be paying with their life. There just is no telling them! Went for a walk last night and the 3 pubs I passed all had loads of people in them.
There are people working in shops and the NHS etc risking their own health to help complete stangers and these ****wits could not follow simple advice.

I do not wish anyone to get ill but **** me, I do wish I could shoot s few in the bollocks <grr>

Suffice to say he's an ignorant, ill-informed turdburger, despite the fact it was actually Simon Heffer who wrote the article to which I refer. But just trust me on this - if Johnson and Cummings thought they could get away with it they'd be saying coronavirus is only here because Scousers broke down the gates to let it in, then pissed on the brave nurses trying to treat the victims.

Not sure if it's already been mentioned but the 'r0' value is worth hearing about AND monitoring over a period of time. This is the rate of infection of a virus, so if the r0 value of a virus is 5 it means every 1 person who has it will infect another 5.

If the r0 can be got below 1 then each existing infection causes less than one new infection. In this case, the disease will decline and die out.

In context, the r0 for measles was 12+ whereas the r0 of common flu iirc is about 1.5. But where this really matters is when everyone in a population is completely vulnerable to the disease i.e. there's no vaccine for the disease and no one has had the disease before...

My daughters friends girlfriend who is 30 is in intensive care in Edinburgh on a ventilator .
She has asthma!
Our dithering and the ****ing silly ****s cramming into pubs before shutdown is cataclysmic and staggering

Higher rates of testing giving a more accurate figure of cases? Just a guess really.

Reckon we've easily had a million cases all round now.
