Reading this thread saddens me. Regardless of who or what and caused all this, there was an opportunity to look at our lives and maybe come out of it better people with a more balanced outlook on life. It's almost like we were tested and that far too many failed that test. Instead of looking inwards and finding strength and then projecting that out into the world far too many came out of the last few years with a cold heart and a bitterness that will effect the whole world for many years to come.

 

If we're being tested Luv, it probably ain't over yet. Tough times ahead for lots of people. Our leaders have failed us up to now (not just in the UK, everywhere by the looks of it), but it's up to ordinary folk to look after each other

 

That's part of my point though, we're not looking after each other, there's a bigger divide than ever with people picking their side and becoming entrenched in their thinking. It seems very few decided to be better people.

 

Dunno man, maybe. Most people are pretty decent when all's said and done. Easily manipulated, maybe. But all the little acts of kindness never make the news.

 

You could be right, good news doesn't sell. I also have to concede that my despair is based on my own life which is a very small group (with some good people) and then the unavoidable media. I hope you're right and when it comes down to it people are generally good and change will happen over time. It's just that we are so far away from a peaceful world at this moment in time, seems like a fork in the road and that if we get it wrong now there's no turning back.
