I am ambivalous to it. Again this one i definitely do not believe. I know organ harvesting was quite big back in the day (well scare rumours but in the 2000s when china was more lawless my mum would be scared for me to go the a neighboring chinese city) but by criminal gangs.

Again i dont really know the truth about them or have inside information.

I read from a group once that they are a cult in terms of just taking money but if people want to practice being spiritual etc be my guest. I think what they are saying is a bit extreme in terms of prosecution but i do know there have been detentions of people in hk for publicising "bad gossip books," about the leaders of China but they were killed off and harvested.

It's not a cult but hey ho......yeah it's spread around the globe mainly because its brilliant for health mind and body by all accounts........from what I've been looking at is the group started too become a threat to the ccp and they decided enough was enough and started 2 smash anyone connected....no one cared about the atrocities taking place arpund the globe so they upped the stakes and started taking the organs from said followers because they were healthier than the street people who had poor diets and failing organs.......so Bob you should be fine now, they got a better supply :emoticon-0110-tongu


Obviously you can find your own information on this and then maybe we can raise awareness of what is happening even though our government remains silent......they did stop organ buying from china based on the evidence shown which is a plus if its true

Oh i didnt answer the point on this, if its state vs people and families of the state arent involved, there is only one winner in that war with modern weaponry and surveillance. You better hope the powers are be are benevolent as its unthinkable to think otherwise as you know from your favourite book of 1984

Interestingly i was chatting to some of the older generation who china (70s) and these folk had **** like rations on oil and meat and went hungry all the time and same from my parents who were subsidence farmers in hk. They dont care for politics as long as peoples lives get better.

There are also lots from hk and china who hate the government. Back in the day during some of the worse of the cultural revolutions, i heard first hand from a friends dad (we were on a cruise) how essentially the militant students of the regime came and killed all his middle class family (educated people and rich were taken down) and he got away by jumping into the sea and swimming to hk. It was really sad to hear and there must be plenty of these stories where if not losing family members, they lost a that they had and essentially had to escape which would brew up hatred.

None of us should need 2 worry about politics if it was done for a better life for all dude....you don't need to be Chinese for that ideal world.

Hk has been smashed by the secret services from china and it was so sad to see so many good people fight for rights only to disappear one by one

Sorry i miswrote, it was a british born chinese group and only 1 person wrote it not a bunch of people. Im sure there are majority lovely falun gong and if any of it was a cult for money it probably was a rogue element (like muslim terrorism). I dont know enough and i am not as well read or listened as you aberdude.

I will stick to watching footie and laughing at pool thanks

When you get the majority to uprise i may follow you aber but im not sure you are getting much traction on not606 with the 20 regular members we get here.

That and 15 of them are probably going to form dads army when they do

Re: Falun Gong. Regardless of cult or religion (depends on your definition and perspective), the bigger surprise is probably that China allowed it to get so big before acting.

Technically religion is outlawed by communist doctrine (for members of the party at least), presumably the government turned a blind eye because it was well-being focused... But if your policy is "no religion" and party members are practicing it's only a matter of time before something with religious-seeming aspects gets cracked down upon.

It's a shame they have such rules, and certainly the torture and human rights abuses can't have any justification, but that the crack down occurred at all can't be of a surprise to many, as sad and horrific as it was.
