If I've heard reporter Sam correctly on SKY News,

Sue Gray it appears has managed to obtain the card data for people who were in Number 10 ie dates and times, which would be deemed as substantial evidence. I never gave it a thought that they would need swipe cards to gain access to certain parts of building.

I looked for a media article about it, and this story was run by The Guardian yesterday... https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news...log-of-staff-movements-in-and-out-of-building

Although swipe cards wouldn't be hundred percent realiable, dependent on if Sue Gray knows the right questions to ask ie are any specific swipe cards time restrained, as I imagine you wouldn't allow people access to certain areas at all hours of the day, then someone would have had to let them in, which would bypass the system - albeit that in itself would be a security breach.

There's never a copper when you need one!

At times like these you wish they could have had a met policeman standing outside the front door, a few more at the end of the street controlling who gets access and god knows how many more inside providing security. At least then we would know there hadn't been any law breaking as it would have been their job to stop it.

The copper outside number 10, probably ain't got a clue who half of the people are, Thatcher put up security gates, so the checks would be done there, the cop outside number 10 was but a mere tourist attraction from the past, hence why they are not visibly armed, unlike the cops on the gate.

Yeah, it was a bit tongue in cheek, but it does highlight a lot of the hypocrisy that is part of our society. You can bet that if the police had come across a party in a halls of residence they wouldn't be waiting for the university to carry out an internal investigation to find out whether it was a study group or not.

I remember back when I was 10 years old, my dad was a referee and won the local FA lottery for two cup final tickets - back when going to Wembley was something mythical that every young kid dreamed of. We took the overnight bus from Newcastle and had about 6 hours to kill before going to the ground. My dad took me to see Downing Street and got my pic taken with the copper outside. None of it was about security and the copper was more interested in chatting to us than anything else going on. Different times!

Depends what you define as a party, otherwise the police would not have had need to question who or what was going on in number 10, in the same way they do not know what is probably happening in number 10 on any other day of the week.

Although the gate may have a daily list of visitors to expect and I would assume have to have a daily security briefing ie to know the level of security required for any given day. Unlike the tabloid front pages that try to persuade the public that the giveaway would have been the party poppers and hats.

Not sure what the rush is really, the coming week all will be revealed and we will see if Boris walks as a result, well when I say walk, I mean forced out.

The cards usage is normally recorded on the system going by the ones i was involved with in DWP offices . The restricted times thing probably isn't as likely for a chunk of staff at number 10 as they can be called in when something occurs though some areas being more secure seems very likely .

Yeah I agree, they will all be digitally recorded everytime they swipe, even if an attempted swipe by a minion fails, as each card will be coded to a specific individual. No hiding anything in our digital world.

Good point, I hadn't thought of that, because it would be looking all the way back to early 2020.

I would've thought when the bloke who went to the offy and came back with a suitcase full of bottles clunking away, they might have asked to take a look inside?

Or maybe they did, and because they're there for security primarily they turned a blind eye to it.

He has to go but not just for the "party" he has been a blundering embarrassment of a long while now

The amusing thing now is that if you did an identikit classic Tory Prime Minster from the fifties and sixties you would get Jacob Rees Mogg or Sir Kier Starmer
or possibly a combination of both
