This is what I would like answered Stainsy.

And in answer to you Stan..why I did this...
Is because we are not over this yet..People are not reporting results for exactly these reasons.

We actually need to know this data.
The data we need to know...was not asked

Have I been vaccinated
Have I had it before.
How ill am I.

I think we are at the tail end of this pandemic...the information that omicron B1 or B2 is going through the population rapidly and in vaccinated people it is not having much effect ( a mild cold or nothing).
We need to know and show..that the majority of people who are seriously ill are those who are unvaccinated.

We should make it easy to report...not take over an hour before one person lost the will to live.
Do they hassle ill people/hospitilised people in the same way.

I have sent in a complaint, I was told at the start of the conversation with Trace and Track that the call was recorded. I have asked them to listen to it and confirm if it is correct I can be prosecuted for not giving an address for someone I met 7 days ago

Firstly Beth, I hope you don't suffer any Covid Symptoms and get back with a negative test soon.
Secondly, the Government actually don't want you to record your results really as this would suggest that cases are still high, this would go against their narrative of getting back to normality with the lifting of Plan B restrictions.

Do the right thing (as we know you will) but don't report thorough Track & Trace. That way at least your blood pressure stays in check.

This is so correct R4E.

Here’s something that I wish I had known a couple of years ago…..if you wear an FFP2 (US N5) face mask it filters out 95% of airborne droplets both exhaled and inhaled, regardless of whether anyone else is wearing a mask. Wearing an ordinary surgical mask filters out 91%, provided everyone else is wearing one too.

At least according to the Atlantic magazine.

I should have done some research ages ago. You can get these at Boots. Just don’t get ones (banned in many places) with those circular filters, because that means the stuff you breathe out is unfiltered.

Of course not Stainsy. I am sure she wouldn't.
You wonder why I am belligerent, because the whole thing was useless, and is now an example of the money that is being wasted. There is obviously no epidemiologist now in charge. They are obviously not going to follow up on all the data I gave them. I gave them enough data about the last 7 days to keep a team of a hundred trace and trackers busy

I asked what he was going to do with the vast amount of data I gave him. He did not know, that is awful, and is not LEGAL under the data protection act 2018

Your rights
Under the Data Protection Act 2018, you have the right to find out what information the government and other organisations store about you. These include the right to:

  • be informed about how your data is being used
  • access personal data
  • have incorrect data updated
  • have data erased
  • stop or restrict the processing of your data
  • data portability (allowing you to get and reuse your data for different services)
  • object to how your data is processed in certain circumstances

You of course are being protective about your wife and her job...I would be the same.
But answer me honestly Stainsy...what would you have said and done...would you have lasted the hour? Would you have been compliant in giving the data I did for an hour.

I have met you several times. Am I wrong in saying ...you would not have been as obliging as I was for as long as I was

Ah so now you are happy to admit you were being belligerent ? So then would I be right in thinking your frustrations could have lead to some kind of defensiveness on both sides ?

It just seems from reading your original and subsequent posts that you were partly, if not mostly to blame for what you found a stupid waste of time. I’m not disagreeing with you that it could very well have been a waste of time, however what I don’t agree with is taking your frustrations out in the poor guy for no fault of his own.
No I really don’t do that….why ? ‘Cos I’ve been in the other side being a working bloke trying to do a job within boundaries that are set and I’ve been shouted at, abused both physically and verbally, spat at and assaulted by people who would probably say I deserved it.
The only people I go out of my way to abuse and belittle are the scammers who seem to weekly try and take over my laptop, however I do think they pretty much deserved the abuse ‘cos they are scum.

And to address your point about being protective of my wife….you really couldn’t be further from the truth.

I am sorry Stainsy I did not start belligerent, but it ended that way.
I did not say a single rude word to him. I can promise you that.

I answered all of his questions for 65 minutes (checked on my phone record) in detail, my only only belligerent comments were "This is a waste of our time" and "are you threatening to prosecute me if I do not give you that information" (he said it was a legal requirement..which at that time I did not know was incorrect) and I hung up, because I was very upset. The more you make me think about this...the worse it gets in my head and the more upset I am with the process

Oh and yes as a medical researcher, I have carried out a lot of epidemiological surveys and neurological tests. I do not think I was ever that rude to anyone, and yes people have been obstructive/belligerent back to me. I have tried to explain why we are collecting data and what we are going to do with it and why.
He did not do that...because he did not know. That is criminal.

It is unforgivable in the setting up of the system (yes not his fault) that the people who are running this do not know what will happen to the data. What I should have done retrospectively is ask for his supervisor. If I get another call (last time I got 1 a day...so I expect a few more), I will do that.

Is that wrong Stainsey?

I just find your attitude towards a working bloke, just trying to do his job rather disappointing Beth.
I thought better of you than that.

Whatever Stainsey, we will beg to differ on this

Perhaps if he did it better, had better tools, had more understanding of what he was doing and did not bully me by threatening me with legal action I would be nicer to him than just saying "that is a waste of time " and hanging up on him. I know that is pretty bad thing to do.

If you say so Beth……but of course others might think it was you that could have handled it better.
But as you say……Whatever

Guess what Lads.... I've tested positive again (2 tests just to be sure, to be sure). I always test on Tuesday...after the weekend and before I baby sit my granddaughters for two days. Precautionary..

Again NO SYMPTOMS....(I love the vaccine).
Hubbie negative but has a few symptoms (remember he has long covid and is feeling fatigued and achey yesterday ...he is OK today, he loves the vaccine too).

But i am a good girl, and I am doing what I am supposed to and isolating until I get 2 negative tests after day 5/6.
But..grab a coffee here comes the rant

Just had my trace and track call.
They wanted to know everything I had done over last week. As he was obviously had to etch it into a stone tablet it took way over an hour, before I told him this was ridiculous and hung up. I was bullied and threatened that if I did not give info it was illegal.

We had multiple arguments
Me. hubbie is LFnegative..
TT man: he doesn't have to isolate
But he has a few symptoms...
TT man: he does have to isolate
But he has had long covid on and off since August
TT: he will have to see a doctor
But he can't as he is a direct contact and has symptoms
TT: I don't know then
Who does
TT: I don't know.
This is a waste of our time..

When we got to who had I met last Tuesday(8 days ago) ...I refused to give him contact details of my daughter.. I could be prosecuted, ....do it then I said

( I had already given him full contacts to QPR, Kassam stadium car boot, 2 seperate Tescos, Aylesbury museum , Zizzi restaurant, 2 pubs, 3 paper shops, a charity shop, 2 trains ,2 bus journeys..and was pretty bored.

The only contact details I could remember was my husband. So he has received a notification...to my phone!!!!!!

He never asked me if I was vaccinated.
He never asked me if I had symptoms.( mind you I may have mentioned it several times).

I asked him what he was going to do with the details I gave him...he said he didnt know...but if QPR go into lockdown...its because of me

He actually asked me if I was in close contact with anyone in the stadium...I asked him if he had ever been to a football match.

The only information I wanted was where to get some LFTests as I am running out
"He was pretty sure it was on the website"...yes it is , and I have found it ...but not really much help

Still NO SYMPTOMS but my blood pressure is through the roof...and I haven't had time to even brush my teeth yet

Beth, as I've asked before, are you ok?
Seriously, you seem on such a downer.
Why oh why report to test and trace?
Do the right thing, which you will, and do try to think of your blood pressure etc.

I'm genuinely concerned.

Thx Col for asking .. yes I'm on a bit of a downer. Mainly because I can't see my grandchildren who I look after for 2 days a week. They are upset and that is upsetting me too. Stupid isn't it...

I reported the result because I thought it was the right thing to do. I still think it is...although I am wavering. Mostly by the response I got, which was not good.

We do need to know what is out there (that is really not a political statement but a scientific statement.) We need to know what is happening to make the correct decisions...and yes..if it is that people like me have it, are not ill, and are carrying on OK. I do not care if that fits in with Boris's plan B... that is a fact...and we need to know it.

Having said that. The Rrrrs have cheered me up a lot. I honestly really like the team. I like what they do.
I like what they achieve ...yes I care if they go up ornot...but regardless I am proud of them.

Thx Col.

Day 8 still positive :headbang:
Only 2 more days and you are free ...regardless if a positive test....Peter !!!!

A friend of mine was positive just after Christmas...followed the rules and got free after about 8 days. Now 3 weeks later she is positive again

( it turns out you should not do a LFT for a certain amount of time after having covid..as the results are unreliable)

I'm due to fly to Faro in 12 days, is there a chance my PCR test prior to flying could show me as positive

Peter... there is a chance yes . I am afraid.
I think you ought to get some advice.

The info implies 90 days before the tests are "clean" again.... but some take a recent infection with Covid as a sort of " booster"...
It was what Djovich used to get into Australia ( he had an infection just before Xmas) his problem was that he lied about the dates and the tests... but other than that, proof of a recent infection ..might be okay too.

You need to check Peter I am afraid
