There's no way he can take credit for the success of any vaccine, whether it be Pfizer, Oxford, Moderna or any of the others that are due. These wonderful scientists should be bathing in the glory, but they won't as they'll be busy working on the next stage - not riding along on their coat-tails like ****sock, who couldn't find his own arse even if he had a map.
Happy to celebrate the vaccines. Not sure exactly what we should be praising Hancock for though, he's not had any hand in their development or approval.
But perhaps he is claiming credit and weeping on the telly to try and make us forget that he allowed infected, vulnerable people to go from hospitals to care homes, untested, causing thousands of deaths. No wonder the government are trying to neuter the judiciary.
There will be a reckoning.
I think we all know why we have so many deaths when you look at how irresseponsible some people have been. Blaming the government at every opportunity doesn't cut it any more.
Obviously it doesn’t with you because you’re a paid up Tory felcher but the reality is they took far too long to take the pandemic seriously and have treated the whole thing as an exercise in protecting their own image rather than the people they’re meant to serve. The result is a horrific death toll and economic decline. You can blame Doris down the road who went to the hairdresser only nine days after getting back from Tenerife if it makes you feel less bad about continuing to support this.
No point ‘debating’ with a party stooge. You seriously think the excess deaths in care homes, nearly 30,000 of them, were due to the irresponsible behaviour of the residents and staff? Yep, you probably do.
The people responsible for this will be held accountable.
My wife has now been advised not to take this vaccine as they have no idea how it will react with her already ****ed up immune system. As Long Covid is affecting up to 2% of cases, if this is across the board, that's a lot of people not taking the vaccine. I'm not sure if she's been advised to wait for the Oxford vaccine, as this reacts differently I believe? (Sure either Stan or Beth can confirm)
I doubt the Oxford version will be better for her, sadly, as it’s based on injecting you with a weak virus, not great for the immuno compromised. People who have had chemotherapy or radiotherapy relatively recently, or take drugs to prevent rejection of a transplanted organ will also probably not get these vaccines.
It wouldn’t be an issue if enough of the rest of us get the vaccine to halt its spread. Worrying stuff in the paper today about relatively large numbers of NHS and care home staff saying they won’t take it, attributed to anti vaccine propaganda. It seems to me that these people might be in the wrong profession anyway.
we’ll see. There will be lengthy and inconvenient inquiries at the very least. Plus, when my life is nearing its end, probably next year due to scurvy or rickets from the lack of fresh fruit and vegetables, I might take matters into my own hands.
It’s a real shame that the V for Vendetta imagery has been hijacked by the alt right/guido Fawkes faction, Alan Moore is presumably pissed off about that.

I am a bit touchy today. The paper is almost unreadably depressing. I don’t think the shortage of vegetables thing even has that much to do with Brexit, it’s an immediate ‘stockpile now’ request to supermarkets, fears of panic buying beyond anything seen with COVID. And for some reason my wife decided to leave the Christmas tree she bought yesterday in the garden overnight prior to decoration today, so now it sodden with this perpetual ****ing rain.I was joking you touchy git.

I am a big fan of coffee full stop. And this has prompted me to look up the origin of the supposedly Fairtrade beans on the ‘Italian style’ beans we normally have, to find that there is no information on that on the packaging or online. Which is a bit odd. It’s tasty coffee, but presumably multiple origin, as it’s also very reasonably priced.
