No, I think it's everybody's responsibility to download it if they can. If it helps to save lives then we should.
Still, I am sure some people won't download it then moan if the death rate goes up.

Think it’s also reasonable people wouldn’t want their data and movements shared with a government throwing contracts to any old private company run by their mates with no knowledge of what security is in place for it.

They definitely do! There could be thousands moaning soon due to 16000 tests going walkies. Bloody moaners
We all dealing with an new app that has been downloaded 14M times... I am sure there will be problems however for the majority it seems to be working fine. Everyone bar the Mrs I have spoken to says it works fine. As I have said before 6 -7 posters on here don't represent the majority of the population.

Every time you post on here they know. Your phone records cover your movements anyway. Stop being silly.

Well, I downloaded it and I think it's fine. It keeps a record of where I have been. That picture taking thing is easy.
I think people just moan for the sake of it?
It keeps a record of where I have been....... I’m sure I’m alone here in saying this, but this sentence gives me chills. (Cue - if you’ve got nothing to hide, you’ve got nothing to fear)

They certainly dont mate. Good job we arent getting polled.

Plus its proving to not work efficiently which could be just as dangerous.
Bob you need to get things, right mate. Firstly the app works for the huge majority of the people however some have had a few problems... like your mate.

How do you know it works if you were near a Covid-positive person for a sustained period of time and it’s not told you yet?

How many people will be told to isolate themselves for 2 weeks based on a false positive or where the test is detecting old virus RNA of earlier infection, where that person is now not sick, symptomless and not infectious? Seems to me that it could be a very large proportion.

I'm sure people will download it and moan that the death rate goes up too.

I downloaded the Protect Scotland app over the weekend as I needed to book a test as a colleague at work had tested positive. No idea if it's similar to the English app, but I've not been informed of any contacts yet. It also says that an upgrade is on the way to work with other countries version of the app so you can travel overseas and still be track/traced - which is slightly ominous (not that I have any plans for holidays at the moment!).

Ireland NOT moving into level 5 restrictions. 24 counties joining Dublin and Donegal in level 3. The government rejected the recommendation. Numbers in both parts of the island are way too high.

Based on population, the numbers in the North are much higher than down South.
