Hang on Woody I am not just sticking up for them. I know they have made mistakes but when people don't respect the guidelines it's not their fault. Just bashing the government at every opportunity. As I said many have contradicted themselves on here.
But many are challenging the guidelines themselves, along with policy and methodology and transparency.

I agree and it all comes down to the fact that this disease is causing them problems. They are not only. I hear the same in France. Are they all stupid?

Oh, yes, I agree. But I don’t think most of them are doing it as some form of protest. They do it because their individual convenience is more important to them than the collective health of their communities. Selfishness. Quite a few of those moaning about police states etc are also more concerned about their personal convenience than principle, I suspect. Not those commenting on it on here, of course. Of course, as we don’t know how effective some of these rules are, especially those with little or no evidence behind them, like the 10.00 curfew, it might not matter anyway, and there is just cause to challenge them.

The government minister on the radio now cannot answer questions about her own governments new rules. How the **** do they expect ordinary, thick, people to follow them?

People have to believe that the rules they are being asked to follow are proportionate and effective. Remember the first lock-down, when we were told that we were only allowed to leave the house for exercise once a day and for an hour maximum? Daft. Remember the woman that was arrested for sitting on her own on a park bench for too long? There are six people in my household, including two young children, so if my second daughter comes to visit, bringing my other grandchild, we're breaking the law. Am I going to tell her not to come? Of course I'm not, but my neighbours are being encouraged to report me to the police. Ridiculous.

Stroller are you not taking this to the extreme? I agree in some cases the 6 rule is stupid. When we see those idiots on TV in London and Manchester dancing around respecting nothing.. what should we do?

It's the government that's taking things to extremes by making abitrary laws that make no sense. I don't know what you're referring when you talk about idiots dancing around, but most of the problems regarding large groups on the streets have been caused by the 10pm curfew.

Instead of everyone leaving the pub at 11pm at the same time, they now leave at 10pm at the same time! Priceless

So as I said previously that it comes down to respect. Why do they need to do this? Why cant they go out for a beer and go home at 10? Are we a nation of alcoholics? I remember a day when pubs closed at 2pm on a Sunday... did I got out and act like an idiot after? No I respected the law.
The reason the governments taking things to the extreme is because they are s22t scared of the response if Covid gets out of hand.

The thing is, without the curfew people would be leaving at all different times. This was one of the reasons for relaxing licensing laws in the first place.

Facts that are generally wrong but why let that minor detail get in the way.
You have a short memory Bob. when you posted that you were leaving this board a while back who was it that sent you a personal message telling you to stay? I also posted to Wills to tell him that I would never report on him or any other poster. You know who the mods are... ask them? They will tell you that I have never sent any messages reporting or complaining about other posters. That's not me. If someone irritates me I put them on 'ignore' for a month then move on. Yet it's sad that you believe an imbecile who is saying that I would 'grass up' another poster? Don't embarrass yourself by being the only one 'liking' his rubbish. If it's true then he can present the post for all to see? I don't mind I have nothing to hide. I said before I really enjoy your football stuff, don't be someone's lackey.:emoticon-0148-yes:
