Deaths ARE rising, contrary to what some people seem to be saying.
According to a GP friend ten days ago there were no COVID cases in our local hospital ICU, yesterday there were 6. It’s kind of inevitable, but the clinicians are better at treating this now and there are more options available, so hopefully the death rate will not get back to where it was a few months ago.

Who's saying deaths aren't rising? They are, but not at anywhere near the rate that reported cases are rising, even allowing for the natural delay.

I would expect that deaths from flu and pneumonia are rising too. It's the time of year.

I think it was Cols way of having a dig at the likes of you and me, Strolls.

Inevitably, after keeping people apart for so long, our immune systems not interacting with each other’s and with the world at large, people will be susceptible. Re-introduce everyone and there will be cases, potentially many false, some not, and there will be some deaths, some causes disputable.

Less than 400 people have died in the Uk from covid alone, no co-morbidities.

The government has admitted that many more people will die from the cure to the problem than the problem itself.

Viruses are part of life, they don’t disappear because you hide away for some time.

This is not sustainable. Thousands have and will die because of this inept leadership and thousands of lives will be ruined.

Time for an emergency national debate and time to include the dozens of eminently qualified experts frozen out of the mainstream machine.

This illustrates how statistics can so easily be misused. Admissions have TRIPLED - from 11 to 33. If they said admissions had increased by 22 it wouldn't quite have the same impact, would it?

Totally mate.....but it creates a sensational headline that sells newspapers. The gullible British public lap it up

I thought Cologne had said they weren't.
Apologies if I mis-read.
