It was concerning the government making it mandatory for face masks to be worn in all schools, which you said the government first put out, then the fact they changed their mind and said it was only in areas of special measures (a very quick u turn).
However my mate said that was bollox and I shouldn’t listen to all I’m told on a message board.....I bet him a fiver I could prove him wrong.....I couldn’t....I lost a fiver
I assume your area/school has made its own decision on face masks as I thought it was still not mandatory ?
Got it.
I received a news flash on my phone from BBC that said "wearing of face masks in school will become mandatory". I went to the site and that said basically the same.
That is what I said on the board.
The next mornings news it said face masks in schools will be mandatory in communal spaces and in high risk areas at the discrecion of head teacher/local education board.

I admit I do not know if there was a Uturn, sloppy reporting or just a small news bite that never included all the details.
So I was wrong to say it was a Uturn. I owe you a fiver...and some cake
Sorry

With respect Beth, that's just another bunch of questions.
Which, I suppose, sums up how difficult this thing is to call.
You are right Col, question after question.

Politicians sway the facts to suit their point of view...as we all do (me included).

I feel we have managed to get ourselves in a real panic, where nobody knows what to do.It is not good leadership..(compare to the relative calm of NZ and Sweden)

I do think Covid panic is hiding other things ...but unlike Butthuber it is not global domination by lizard men...but it is a smokescreen for Brexit.

And nobody is panicking that Geoff Cameron is our Club Captain... I ask you that is a bigger problem than even Brexit

Can you screen shot it for me ? I’m claiming sloppy reporting and might get my fiver back ;)

Mmm.....I don't buy this 'covid is a smokescreen to hide brexit'.

Are we over reacting to the threat now or not in your opinion?
Is it worse than seasonal flu in your opinion?
Are fit people with no underlying health problems occasionally getting very ill from covid in your opinion?
Should we, as suggested by some on here, simply accept covid as a relatively mild infection and just return completely to normal?

I think (as you've said before) we have to do what we think is right for ourselves and close ones. Sometimes it's made more difficult by others actions or lack of actions.

And still my mother in law cant book a test!!! It's a ****ing farce. For arguments sake, say she has it. There could be numerous people (up to 40 at the last count) she has been in contact with in the last 3 days. They could be all infected, totally unaware. World beating system my arse! No wonder the infection rate is climbing.

My lads girlfriend was at a local testing centre today and said it was chaos. Massive queues and idiots turning up on the off chance

It really is pathetic Bob.
We've had months to get this right.

Yep, the R rate is over 1 again!!
