Beyond a joke (watch the clip, ignore that it’s Hopkins)
What an arse
People here have been told to shop normally and don't stockpile
I have bought lots of stuff he would probably deem non essential
Only 75 people at a time in a massive supermarket means you get time to see even more unnecessary stuff than normal
One woman behind me at the checkout had nothing other than a can of kingfisher
Would that have been seen as necessary

I bet the average PC will be rolling their eyes at this...how to make yourself massively unpopular in one easy move
So if I buy an Easter egg tomorrow is that essential? What if I pick up 3 bottles of shower gel rather than one?
Policing is losing the plot (at the top certainly)
What if? What if? All we need is a sense of perspective all round. The rues are to restrict shopping to the essential and therefore minimum amount of time away as possible.ie when you go out buy what you need and while there treat yourself to your guilty habit. no one is saying you can't buy an Easter Egg or three if like them. But don't make a shopping trip just to buy one and then barge in front of another customer just because you think you are the only person who needs the last item . We have the capacity to judge what we need for the best part of a week so get it in one go. We all have to use our common senses ie members of the public as well as individual police officers. So too for your three bottles of shower gel. How many do you and your elderly neighbours need before your next shop?

Doesn't it come from the government? If the guidelines (are they laws now?) that the police are being asked to enforce aren't sensible, they are going to look stupid in doing so. How is a woman sitting alone on a bench by the river causing any harm? How are three people from the same household sitting on the grass in a park doing any harm? Why should I be restricted to one daily exercise outing, or one weekly shopping trip (for essentials only), if I can do these things safely?

Wash your hands a lot and try not to get within six feet of other people for a while. That should suffice.

Because people will see the sunbathers and think I can do that tomorrow, then others say the same etc. Once we've broken the back of this disease that will probably be the way to go with social distancing for a few months but until then we should stick to the rules.

I'd rather be treated like an adult.

How do they know if you are popping out for a second or third walk
Is someone on every street taking a register
Do you take a number
Do you have to go online and register your walk and get a time frame

I don't consider it half hearted. I consider it well thought out for a number of reasons but I wouldn't expect everyone to agree. You clearly think it's not tough enough but Stroller thinks it's too tough from the sound of it.
Can people still fly into the uk
Is the tube open
Has the number of trains been reduced forcing more people into less trains
Are building sites open
If you can't work from home are you allowed to go to work

Sounds not tough enough to me
