Austria, Denmark, Czech Republic, Spain and Italy all planning to loosen the restrictions (but far from raise entirely) after Easter.

I wish we knew what the trigger will be here. New cases recorded over a week, mortality, % of critical care beds occupied, % of NHS staff available? Apparently economic impact on the less well off and MH impact are a part of the equation, according to Whitty.

That's good to hear.

Someone posted a graph of mortality rates earlier,

what do we learn from this?
Give us a clue Woody.

Haven’t looked at it properly but it looks as though deaths for the last available week are about 10% higher than the 5 year average and that this is at least partly, possibly entirely, attributable to COVID19. 1,000 extra deaths. Quite a bit more than that last week and this week I’m guessing, but if, as expected, next week is the peak, we might get away with 20,000 or less ‘additional’ deaths over the period. And of course these could be offset by lower numbers of deaths later in the year, as those who would have died anyway were done by the virus.

I don’t think we will know for quite some time, but these stats are much more interesting than the numbers infected/numbers dead stuff we get daily.

Is that it?

Fair to say we’ll be down on regular flu deaths due to the social distancing too so those figures aren’t as bad as the reality.

I think many people are put off going on the Politics thread now ‘cos there is a childish **** who ruins what was once a place for good political debate with stupid inane comments that just make him look ****ing stupid to the majority......I mean just look at the last two days worth.
Can you guess who it is ?
Was it you, after you threw your toys out of the pram (again) when Jezza lost?

I’ll give you a few clues before I go to get ready for work.....

1/ Zzzzzzzzzz
2/ Bellend
3/ Muppet
4/ Jezza/Jews
5/ Ping
6/ Likes an emoji or 10

Come on....I know you can get it ?
oh typical traits of an attention seeker? Watch out the toys will come flying out for attention.

No mate....really wasn’t as I’ve explained.....unlike you to mock someone ?
Staines, I will defend my corner as much as anyone and sometimes on that thread, I will rub people up the wrong way ... However, I seem to remember someone apologising about the way they were acting... It wasn't me.
I also remember some off the nasty comments that came my way.

I didn’t cover myself in glory for sure.....but at least I can admit that.....you I’m afraid can’t and have now brought some of your ways on to this thread (as prompted my original post).Anyway, we should go back to ignoring each other.....my bad.

Anyway, back to coronavirus. I have a feeling that we could end up as one of the worst affected European countries from all this due to our dilly dally approach

I don't mind these attacks. It actually tells me more about the poster. You can get so much information about a person from a simple 'like'.
