As I said I am no expert in the prison services... I am just a concerned member of the public like Beryl or Blyth asking a question. As I said take a look at the stats of re-offenders or 'low risk' prisoners that go on to commit serious crimes. But hey ho as long as it's not my family then who cares.

It's just another example of a system cut to the core and partially privatised.

I couldn't read the article as I don't subscribe to the paper. You inferred that Vallance criticized the government otherwise you wouldn't have used his name in the original post. I just want to see his words of criticism.

Agree Bob. I don't care about some bloke who went in for 3 months due to car tax non-payment. But these boards can get things wrong. You yourself were a victim of a crime recently when some f22kers stole your tools. "Low risk" would probably include thieves and others.

Not the point Watford. You inferred that Vallance criticized the government when I know he wouldn't be that stupid...Maybe after or before but not now.

Most likely, considering about 90% of thieves are raging drug addicts then they know they will be able to commit a crime without serious repercussion

It seems to me that most of us are going to get this virus at some point this year anyway, and the lockdown is just designed to avoid us all getting it at once. The number of fatalities will be little different. Millions will have already had it and will be immune, there's no reason for them to remain in isolation, other than the fact that we can't yet identify them.

My aunt died last night. It was very much expected - she was late eighties, in a care home and suffering from dementia and other conditions. I don't know yet if she will be a Covid-19 statistic, but it doesn't really matter does it? The worst thing for me and the rest of her family is that we won't be able to go to her funeral.

Bob we have done this many times before and it always ends the same way.
Watford inferred that Vallance criticized the government. If not why even mention his name. He knows exactly why.

Condolences to you and your family Stroller. There’s never a good time to lose a loved one, but the added distress of not being able to say your goodbyes traditionally is so upsetting and difficult to deal with at such a time. Thoughts are with you.
