Well I wasn't suggesting that hand-washing could be enforced, it's just something that we should do more often anyway and the publicity campaign will hopefully have had an impact there.
It seems to me that most of us are going to get this virus at some point this year anyway, and the lockdown is just designed to avoid us all getting it at once. The number of fatalities will be little different. Millions will have already had it and will be immune, there's no reason for them to remain in isolation, other than the fact that we can't yet identify them.
My aunt died last night. It was very much expected - she was late eighties, in a care home and suffering from dementia and other conditions. I don't know yet if she will be a Covid-19 statistic, but it doesn't really matter does it? The worst thing for me and the rest of her family is that we won't be able to go to her funeral.
